Dr. Paul Anthony Arbisi, PhD

This is, by far, the worst mental health professional I've ever had the experience of meeting. He is rude, obnoxious, uncaring, and despite his credentials, he has no idea what he is doing. He misdiagnosis, ignores relevant things you say, is quick to bash other professionals, and is a "hired gun" for whoever gives him money. He looks like he would be a good person if you just see his works history and credentials, but don't be fooled. He is an absolute monster.

Like many comments previously listed Dr. Arbisi was horrific when my PTSD symptoms were at their worse. He collected all the data I willing told VA mental health and ripped me, my life and my struggles to shreds. Horribly uncivil. He should not be at the VA period or anywhere. He is in my opinion sadistic. To this day it still affects myself and my family. All I wanted was to get better so I could go back to work. He made the situation so much worse. -5 rating.

Arbisi, barely listened to me, and when he did, he discounted either my statement or my emotions about that statement. He badgered me to the point that I was unable to breathe and he had to tell me to take a deep breath. when we were done, my PTSD symptoms were in full swing and he ignored that. Outside of the office there were only two cars in the parking lot, his and mine. I was standing by my car and a train engine came down the close by tracks and I reacted very strongly to that; covering my ears, turning away and bending down as he just got in his car drove past me and left. if there was a negative star, I would give him that, because he is way beyond poor.

I just had an appointment with this person at the VA and it was by far my worst VA experience since I've been a Veteran (2003). He's rude from the time you meet him. His sole purpose is to try to discredit everything you say. He asked misleading questions and then use them against you in his report. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT go see him for care or else you will regret it. This guy thinks he is God and could care less about what you tell him.
