My appointment was scheduled 6 months out during that time i read these reviews and kept wondering if i should keep the appointment or not. I did end up seeing Dr. Auwaerter. He spent close to an hour and half going over all of my test results and symptoms that I have had over the many years. I too was there looking for confirmation of Lyme Disease that I have been told for years that I have. While he did say he doesn't believe I have Lyme Disease and I'm not sure still whether i do or not. He did diagnose me with Spondyloarthropathy which is a genetic condition I had no idea that I had. Upon further testing by my G.P. I did find out that i carry the gene and adding up all of the symptoms I believe that my children also suffer from this disease as well as my sister without Dr. Auwaerter I don't believe I would have ever known about this disease.

THE GREATEST DOCTOR EVER!!!!!! saved my life!!!! for anyone to call him a quack. I don't believe you are even a patient! I have been a patient since 1998!! everything about him his perfect! the person who wrote he couldn't cure lyme, you probably don't have it!!! no dr can cure hypochondria!! I would give dr a my life. he gave me mine!! what I have is more serious than lyme!!!

A disgrace tobthe hippocratic oath and to all doctors for making a sick patient feel crazy about supposedly imaginary sympoms and hopeless as to curing very obviously real viruses and bacteria evident in the blood work. Shameful!

I saw Dr. Auwater several years ago for acute Lyme Disease and tick-borne confections (I had a clear tick bite, rash, and got sick immediately afterwards.) I had received basic treatment for Lyme Disease, but my neurologist was convinced I had multiple confections and referred me to Dr. Auwater for evaluation. While he refers to himself as a tick-borne illness specialist and cites his expertise in the media, I found that he had no interest in tick-borne illnesses. He declined to listen to my symptoms or evaluate me for confections and even declined to look at the bloodwork I'd brought, which was positive for one confection. He told me I was probably feeling tired after Lyme Disease and needed to sleep less and then I'd feel better (he cited a study where high school athletes were confined to bed and felt tired because of it. Not relevant or helpful.) Dr. Auwater's disinterest and lack of knowledge cost me dearly. I almost died multiple times in the following years due to a… severe case of Babesiosis and have also tested positive for Bartonella, Toxiplasmosis, Mycoplasma, and Ehrlichia. His early intervention and treatment could have saved me, but instead my infections became chronic and I have spent the past 3 years out of work and desperately fighting for my life. My doctors don't know if I will recover. It took me years to write this review because I lost my ability to read and write for a very long time. Now that I am am once again able to do so I feel compelled to warn others about Dr. Auwater's lack of expertise and interest. Johns Hopkins obviously has an excellent reputation, but if you suspect or know that you have a tick-borne illness then I highly recommend that you go elsewhere. Your life may depend on it.
