I want to start off by saying how sorry I am to the families that are writing reviews upset that their dr. Paul castellanos gave them hope and ideas of what was going on with themselves or their children and then all the sudden dr. Paul castellanos was no longer in Bangor people at northern light are telling us that Paul castellanos was let go and won't give us much of a reason other than just that it's the truth being they cut his funding he worked all day long and at the end of his shift they told him he was no longer needed Paul castellanos saved my father's life if it wasn't for him Eastern Maine medical center would have let my father pass away they thought my dad had severe breathing problems caused from years of smoking they told us that there was nothing else that they could do and we should start looking into arrangements because he would pass. Thankfully we came across Paul castellanos who came into the ICU room put a scope up my father's nose down his throat and found my… father was unable to breathe because there was a tumor that was literally blocking his air passage he scheduled an emergency operation removed pieces of this tumor and stretched an opening so my father could breathe this was sent away for a biopsy came back negative non-cancerous was detected any wears and scheduled my father for 6 months to go back in and take the rest of the mess out within three weeks my father was unable to breathe again we went back to Eastern Maine medical center per castellanos orders to call an ambulance and have him meet him there at the hospital when we got there castellanos got him into the operating room took another huge chunk of this mass that was developed in his throat sent that off the second biopsy came back that it was cancer we then went and had a total laryngectomy procedure completed Paul castellano did this procedure amazingly all cancer was removed my father's pet scan came back clean no cancer Paul castellano was going to do a voice box for my father and then one day he was gone Eastern Maine medical center which is now considered northern lights a corporate business running our hospital that we've all grown to love cut his funding claims he was putting patients lives at risk in reality they're shoving their heads in sand boxes because they're unwilling to learn the exceptional techniques that Paul castellano has learned along his way instead of learning something new they're trying to throw that away it is unfair that these families are leaving reviews on here like it is Paul castellanos fault this is Eastern Maine medical center's fault this is northern lights fault this is the corporate suit wearing men and women that are sitting around a table making decisions about what happens to our loved ones it's their fault we need to speak up. We need to demand that our loved ones are getting the care but they deserve and right now they're not my father is sitting at Eastern Maine medical center right now he now has cancer in his spine he does not have one doctor he supposedly has 8 doctors and none that will actually speak to any of us family members they don't know how to cure him they're coming up with excuses after excuse you made your choice and they can't answer any of our questions we are trying so hard to get him to Mass general hospital and we can't get one person to refer him my father will probably end up dying in this hospital if I can't fight the system and get him out this is all of our loved ones this is what every single one of them are facing if we don't speak up they deserve the care that we want them to have they deserve the care that these doctors nurses staff members took oath to provide to our loved ones
