Dr. Paul Alan Cook, MD

Very nice doctor if you are healthy, seems to specialize more in pregnancies. If you are in pain and older, go elsewhere. He and his staff became cold and uncaring when I became ill. I won't return.

Dr. Cook has been my OB/GYN since 1993 in Texas. He took very good care of me over the next couple of years with some issues I was having. He always answered my questions and let me talk without interrupting. With our first child I developed a condition about a month early that put my health at risk. He caught it and induced ,delivering our healthy son and saving me from further complications. He delivered our surprise daughter a few years later! When he moved from our town I remained his patient and didn't mind the drive. Then he moved to Ok and I didn't hesitate I my decision to keep going to him. As long as I stay healthy and he keeps practicing I will take a day off work each year and keep my appt with Dr. Cook!! He is a wonderful doctor and over the years my husband and have come to consider him a friend as well.

Very thorough in explaining things to me. In the 3 years I've been seeing him, I've to wait for an extended period of time once-when a baby came early. After my last doctor moved out of state, it took me almost 7 years and many others to find one who cared about me and my health. I am very pleased with Dr. Cook!!

I have seen Dr. Cook several times now when my regular physician refered me to him after I had an unusal PAP. He answered all of my questions, took time to explain everything to me, told me it would be a week for my labs to come back but I got a call two days later from his nurse telling me everything was normal, so I didn't have to stress out all weekend. I think they are very professional and I have no problems with his bedside manner.

Dr. Cook has been my OB/GYN for about 3 years now. I love him and if I could pick a doctor to be a doctor for everything, he would be it! He always spends time with me, answers questions, makes great suggestions. I had an ectopic pregnancy and if it weren't for him, it would've never been noticed. He tells me what I need to hear rather than what i want to hear. I love how honest he is. No woman looks forward to these types of visits but he makes it very comfortable.

He was my doctor during one pregnancy and he was horrible!He never checked to make sure the baby was growing properly, even though my ultrasound showed the baby was on the small side.My visits with him were always rushed(they lasted about 5 mins.) he would get my weight and blood pressure ask if i had any questions and send me on my way.When my daughter was born she almost died.She spent 2 months in the NICU.Thank God she made it, but it could have all been avoided if he had paid closer attention and done his job.

If you are looking for a dr with great bedside manner...he is not the one for you! I have talked to several individuals who were treated the same way. One of which was not allowed to let her husband cut the cord in a normal delivery!? When you are pregnant with your first baby you want someone who is caring and doesnt make you feel like an idiot for asking questions. He knows the practice and is a great surgeon but if you are looking for anything else its just not there. Not a good dr especially if you run into any complications. He is not supportive of his patients especialy when it comes to breastfeeding...his comment to me was.." I just dont know how people do that!?"

I think he's very professional, very explanitory and helpful. I am very comfortable with him as well. He has an awesome staff. I would recommend him to others! I love'em!! :)

It was easy to get an appointment and the wait time is almost nothing. The receptionist is very warm and nice. Dr. Cook wasn't as warm and caring as I like, but he seemed thorough and my exams were always comfortable. He does not have a sonogram machine in his office and any time a problem came up I had to go to the hospital and wait for 3-4 hours as an outpatient to have a sonogram. He never actually received a copy of sonograms, just a report and never felt it was necessary to look at the sonograms personally (even though the sonogram techs wanted him to) so he could never answer my questions about them. He dismissed many of my symptoms without giving me sastisfactory explainations. He is one of very few Ob/Gyn doctors in this city. For yearly exams and uneventful pregnancies he would be a good choice because of convience and his office staff, and appointment availablity.

I visited Dr. Cook and the receptionist was very nice but another employee was cussing loud in the background. Dr. Cook was not very nice, I told him that a couple family members had the same issues I have had in the past and he said well that doesn't matter in a very rude tone. I thought that doctors wanted you to tell them your family history as well as your own. I will not return to this doctor.
