Dr Dantzing is very professional, friendly and kind. My skin looks great and problem is resolved. Never have to wait for my turn. He checks right on time. Definitely recommended.

He is absolutely the best dermatologist. He is brilliant with a wonderful caring attitude and his office was personal and most pleasant. I have seen several dermatologists in New York City and he is by far the best.

I went to Dantzig on a recomendation for a persistent dermatological problem and he seemed competent: gave me a quick appointment, took a biopsy, gave a diagonosis. All good except for the long wait time in the office and his rather gruff manner.However, when it came time to prescribe medication for my issue my faith in him gave way to real shock. I saw him four times (paid each time, despite the convention that one should not have to pay full price again for a two minute follow up to the cure) and noticed that he a) never remembered my name or the main issue (he kept telling me my complexion was great, when I was seeing him for a different matter entirely -- i.e. even after visiting him four times in two weeks he had no recollection of who I was). He prescribed something that my regular doctor warned me is quite strong and has significant side effects, particularly with alcohol (it can lead to liver transplants and death). He didn't mention that I shouldn't drink on the medicine,… again I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he assumed that anyone on medication avoids wine with dinner.When the medication was not sufficient, and I needed a refill, I called my pharmacy and they said they needed him to call it in. So I called the office, and here was the dr./patient conversation.Me: Would you kindly call the pharmacy, here is the number, to refill the prescription.Dr: have them call meMe: They say it is their policy that the doctor calls, and if they have to call it takes a week, but the problem is worsening by the day and I'd really like to treat it now.Dr: I don't have time to call them.Me: Would you please just call it in?Dr: This is creating a lot of work for me!Me: I'm sorry to hear that.I just couldnt' believe it. It is the doctor's JOB to cure the patient, and given that my request was simple and I had already paid him hundreds of dollars, the grumpiness and gruffness passed the point of being charmingly eccentric to just being negligent. Furthermore, I venturedMe: Can I drink with this medication?Dr: I don't care what you drink.Thank goodness I had the sense to speak with my regular doctor so as to disregard his off the cuff response as false. Two days later I went to the pharmacy and they said they'd been calling him and he didn't return calls, they suggested I go to urgent care. I spent hours waiting in the emergency room and finally got a refill from the doctors there. Such madness. This man is not professional, he apparently doesn't really care about the well being of his patients, and whatever degree of good feeling I had surrounding his (I hope) accurate diagnosis has been outweighed by my disgust in his negligence and arrogance.What doctor refuses to call the pharmacy for a paying patient who is in pain?
