Dr. Paul Frederic Howard, MD

I had a VERY bad experience with Arthritis Health and Dr. Howard. They were dismissive, condescending, unprofessional, uncaring, and wasted a lot of my time and money. They didn't even bother to review my medical records I sent over from my primary care physician. My appointment was with the doctor, but they forced me to see the PA instead. She asked me about my concerns and when the doctor came in he only wanted to hear her version of my history, not mine. Even though I had numerous issues relating to an autoimmune disorder I was just diagnosed with, he demanded I pick just one issue. He didn't like the one I was concerned with so he decided to focus on wrist pain which was a very minor side aspect. He ordered the same blood work i just had done and an xray for my wrist and put me on Prednisone (I had just been on it a couple of weeks before). It was an awful experience. The Prednisone caused problems and I was much worse. After 2 weeks I went to another doctor and got an immediate… diagnosis that covered all of my symptoms. I spoke with the office manager who promised to pay for the unnecessary bloodwork they did and probably give me a refund for the visit ($400 out if pocket). The PA also told the office manager how badly the doctor treated me. After several attempts to resolve this with the office manager who took weeks between each communication, they have decided not to refund anything. Don't bother with this place! The doctors at Holistic Urgent Care were excellent. They took great care in reviewing my test results and symptoms. They diagnosed me with Hashimoto's and Sjogren's Syndrome.

I could not believe how unfriendly and unprofessional the staff was. I never even saw the doctor because they did not inform me that doctor was out of the country, so it was a total waste of my time. They lost all of my records that were sent from LA. The front office staff should all look for other jobs because with the attitude they have they should never be in the health profession!

Poorly run medical practice, highly unorganized business, substandard customer service, failure to answer phones, revolving door employees, declines all insurances, and ineffective office management. Patients Beware!

He doesn't accept any health insurance? What?

I went to Dr Howard about 6 weeks ago. I found the entire staff to be rude and condescending at best. I arrived at 9:02 for my 9:00 appt. The receptionist immediately pointed that I was late even though there was NO other patients in the room! I was then after waiting 15 minutes brought back to the exam room only to be poked and prodded by his nurse who basically did the complete so called exam. The dr finally came in lifted both my elbows once and proceeded to listen to his nurse! How they came up with my diagnosis without so much as an exray or bloodwork is beyond me. Then instead of considering that due to my severe pain I am unable to be very active so she had the audacity to say that maybe when I get to feeling better I could push back from the dinner table a little sooner!!! WTH. I would not recommend these people too a dog??

I was diagnosed with Scleroderma and was referred by my physician who conducted the blood test to Dr. Howard. I called the office and was told that he does not take Tri-Care Insurance - I am a retired Navy Officer and was told that I would have to self-pay. Obviously, that is not a good option for a disabled veteran. I asked for options and was told that there were no other options and they would not help me finding another option. So now I have been diagnosed with a chronic and potentially fatal disease but I cannot be seen or at least have options provided. Very confused and afraid - thanks to Dr. Howard's staff.

I now live in Utah. Dr Howard took care of me for 21 yr. He is very compassionate!! I was in the hospital for 2 weeks nobody knew what was wrong with me. This man figured it out oh yes blood work was a part of it!! He even call me on Thanksgiving day to check on me. How many Drs do that. If you have a tough case this is your man to go to. I have a rare form of arthritis, he saved my life twice. I give Dr Howard a 100 0/0, I would send my children and grandchildren to him anytime I was concerned for them. This Dr is the Best!!! I’m looking forward to reporting this doctor to the medical board? Claim to fame is top doc. Hardly. Mean spirited, lies and not capable of proper diagnosis. Because of him I became very sick. So glad I left .

This doctor will not listen to your complaints. He is rude and mean spirited. I had been very sick with Ra my entire time at his practice. I left his practice and he was very disgruntled . I now have a good doctor and see how bad he really was. He goes only by bloodwork which does not tell the entire story. He is against disability even if you are disabled. He is also against pain management for a disease that is very disabling and painful. Find another doctor.

He has no compassion. The staff has an attitude and is unwilling to help. The dr belittles you and strips you of your dignity. Don't go here.
