When you get a cancer diagnosis, this is the guy you want on your team. I met Dr. Joyner just a few days after my diagnosis. My GI had referred me to another surgeon, but I chose Dr. Joyner, based on my research, and our first meeting proved my decision was absolutely the right one. Like everybody else who hears the C word from their doctor, I had fears and a lot of questions: How would removing this 4 cm tumor alter the quality of my life? Would I have to wear a bag? Must I eat only bland foods from now on? What do we do next, and how does it all work? I've never had a conversation like this with a physician before, but it was exactly what i needed when I needed it. He was easy to talk to. He really listened to what I said. He covered each of my questions, one by one. He pulled out a whiteboard, wiped it off with the sleeve of his lab coat, and proceeded to draw my GI anatomy upside down! "Good news!", he said. "If your imaging results show this, this is what we do. … If they show that, here's how we handle that." We talked for almost two hours. He never once looked at his watch. Never once was he interrupted with a call, text or email. He answered my every question and addressed my every fear. He was authentic, positive, and realistic in his responses, and we set expectations together. Healing me was his sole focus, and that's what everyone wants in their surgeon in the OR, when the chips are down and you're playing for keeps.

Dr Joyner is a very nice man he explains everything where you can understand what he’s saying and he answers all questions you have for him and his staff were very nice also ??

Dr Joyner recently performed an inpatient laparoscopic procedure. Prior to surgery, I met with him and he explained the procedure in detail, including possible risks. He is an excellent surgeon with a great bedside manner. Highly recommended! He is the only surgeon in the Atlanta area that I would go to for colorectal procedures/surgeries!

Dr Joyner is knowledgeable about my problem and helped me understand what was happening. Felt comfortable during exam.
