Dr. Paul John Kachoris, MD

The most Important things to note before going or taking your children to him is that he #1 will just take advantage of your time and make money for several appointments, and each time he will say he doesnt know how to help you. Intentionally, and then refers patients to a very Disrespectful Hostile Psychiatrist all the way in Buffalo Grove called DR MCNEIL. Beware Kachoris and his lies, manipulation and bad advice.

I saw Dr. Kachoris for "therapy" as a teen and can actually verify his complete uselessness as a therapist. I too recall him practically dozing off during our sessions, though I don't recall him actually falling asleep as the other patient on here reported. It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Kachoris takes advantage of the sick children and their parents. He sees the kids about three times. After the young patient has explained to him what symptoms they have, he rudely says, he doesnt know how to help them, and how does he want them to help him. He then asks the parents to bring back the children for his diagnosis test, which is a written test from some separate expensive company. He will then read out loud the diagnosis of the patient in the building with other offices and suites and people around. He then makes a bad referral to a very abusive aggressive psychiatrist in Buffalo Grove named Dr David McNeil, who is very hostile towards patients, and is known to the Mental Health Community as being bad. Dr McNeil has traumatized alot of kids and young people with his threatening behavior. Kachoris also charges and does not accpet insurance, and loves glancing down at the checks he receives and smiling in front of the families.

Wonderful doctor who is compassionate, professional, affable and effective. Dr. Kachoris helped save a life with this patient. Did not medicate rather helped to develop patient understanding and skills needed to live a full life.

Kachoris placed me on Zoloft and Mellarill when I was ONLY ELEVEN years old. The dangers of an SSRI coupled with Mellarill (similar to Haldol) to a preadolescent brain can be devastating. He used to (and this is completely honest and true) SLEEP during my sessions. My parents gave me a small tape recorder (dictaphone) to chronicle his behavior. When my parents confronted him - he denied it. Then my parents played the audio tape for Kachoris. Naturally, he quickly changed his tune and insisted that his "fake naps" we're being utilized as a technique to force me to start a conversation during our sessions. I had NEVER hated someone as much as I despised him back then (1986). He asked my parents and me to have a family session to "explain" his opinions of us. Kachoris insisted that I suffered from an Oedipal complex. Keep in mind - I was only 11 years old. He literally screamed that he was convinced I wanted to have sexual relations with my mother so badly, that she need be cautious of me… because I might likely attempt to sexually assault her. I couldn't make this up if I tried. He is the least professional, most dispicable, dishonest and cruel "doctor" I have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

I have been working with Dr. Kachoris for 4 years now. He is always available when I need him. He was able to connect with me better than anybody I have every spoken with before. He will check in on me when I do not reach out to him myself. I highly recommend his services.

He is not helpful at all. From the beginning he doesn't understand patients, and what help they need. HE CHARGES WAY TOO MUCH. He gives bad references to his patients, that's not helpful at all.
