Dr. Paul Jacob Kokorowski, MD

We just got back home from our appointment with Dr. Kokorowski . Our son was born with hydronephrosis we went to a local doctor and after 6 months of treatment or so we were not satisfied. I went to thrust worthy google and saw that Cedar Sinai Dr. Freedman was top in the Nation! Fast forward a few years and all of a sudden my son started getting recurrent UTI’s!!! We were dreading going all the way to Cedar Sinai with all this traffic ……so we called Dr. Freedman’s office and they said that Dr. Kokorowski is part of their group and also has an office in Torrance!!!! No way! I was so delighted and upon researching his name I saw he was highly recommended in our local Facebook mommies group (my mommy research go to) My son is scared to go to the doctors. Immediately Dr. Kokorowski started asking silly questions to my son, he immediately warmed up to him….. which is rare! Dr. K had studied my son’s chart prior to our appointment….. he knew all the tests, location, and dates, he… didn’t need to look at notes. He actually took the time to go over my son’s medical history before we got there. I found that to be very nice because usually when we meet new doctors they are looking down at the paperwork the whole time. He didn’t rush us, he listened to our concerns and questions….answered everything he went above and beyond. We walked out feeling lighter and more informed. As a parent when problems arise this is exactly the type of doctor we need. Thank you Dr. K and your wonderful team. See you in a few weeks.

I came to Dr. Kokorowski even after my primary care doctor had told me that my son's condition would likely self resolve. I made the mistake of getting my son circumcised and it led to it being buried so I took him to this doctor. I got it into my head that a specialist would know best. Dr. Kokorowski said my son's condition would never self resolve and he would need surgery. Specifically he said the top was would narrow and trap it more. I was a little surprised because sometimes it looked fine and sometimes it was buried because he was chubby. He gave me confidence by saying he had written the book on the topic and how to perform the procedure. Fast forward 4 years and the surgery outcome is disfiguring. The skin doesn't seem straight and the right is much larger than the left. My son now has said he has pain on that side. It has given me anguish for years because how it looked before was better. At least from what I have read, it's better to see after they start walking to see if… it resolves. I do not recommend this doctor because the visual outcome is very poor and he's likely pushing for surgery when it's better to wait and see. I remember after surgery I asked if it would look better and he said to wait a month and then "what you see is what you get". Seeing him has been my biggest life regret.
