Dr. Paul Harry Lento, MD

Dr. Lento is a physiatrist. He is an excellent physician, very smart and capable. He is not a surgeon so he helps find ways to avoid surgery if possible. He is very involved with his patients, is kind and considerate and show considerable empathy. He treated my 2 problems and I avoided surgery.

EXCELLENT DOCTOR!!!! Dr. Lento recommended physical therapy, which I fought him on, but we was right. His KNOWLEDGE, support, kindness makes him the BEST doctor in my opinion.

Dr. Lento was very professional and very thorough in evaluating my problem. He diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me the necessary treatment. Recommended physical therapy which has been working out very well and I am on my way to recovery.

I was referred to Dr. Lento by my Ortho surgeon at SOA to further explore a problem I was having with my right shoulder. Dr. Lento performed an ultrasonic procedure to help determine the possible causes of the shoulder pain and lack of mobility. He explained possible causes and possible treatments using clear and understandable terms. An injection of cortizone at the damaged tendon provided immediate relief. Unfortunately that was a temporary fix as the shoulder deteriorated again within 5 weeks. 2nd visit was for an MRI, results of which confirmed the exact issues and PT required to rehabilitate the shoulder. Dr. Lento is a different breed of Physician, I will say "Old School" in a good way as he took time to personally call me on 2 different occasions to discuss the shoulder damage and choices for treatment. I have not had a doctor call me personally since the 1970's. Try calling any physician and see if you can get him/her on the phone or request a call back, they always have… someone on their staff return the call. Dr. Lento is sincere, dedicated and very easy to feel comfortable with. I highly recommend him, he will speak to you as an adult using understandable common language and analogies to help the patient understand more about the injury. Each time he called, we spoke for 10-15 minutes, he did not rush through the conversation and he makes sure all points and questions are discussed.

Dr. Lento is very easy to understand without clouding issues with medical jargon. Answers all questions and I did not feel rushed. Had excellent outcome with his treatment.

I am a registered nurse and as you know, we are very good at finding doctors that respect us, are great diagnosticians and are kind to patients. I found Dr. Lento and he met all of my expectations for being a top doc! I drove from Punta Gorda to Sarasota to see him and I will be happy to continue my care with him. I wan tot get back to biking, walking a 5K and swimming! He is helping me recover!

Dr. Lento is the best doctor I've seen in a very long time! Having him treat me is like having an old fashioned doctor (except he doesn't make house calls). He cares, takes time with me, is VERY knowledgeable, and communicates with my other doctors. Give me the name of one other doctor who does all of these things these days?
