Dr. Paul Robert Lichtenstein

Idiotic, incompetent jerk who couldn't even treat a case of zits.

Good thing he retired, cause he sucked as a Dermatologist. What a waste of time.

Dr. Lichtenstein was at first very useful to me. I went into see him on account of my acne. He prescribed me an antibiotic, and within a month my skin was nearly clear. He made the mistake of changing my prescription to a different antibiotic, and from there it all slid downhill. When the multiple antibiotics he prescribed me didn't work, he switched me back to the original antibiotic that did work. Unfortunately, in his desultory treatment, I had developed a resistance to the original antibiotic and all he could do was "throw everything that is used to treat acne" at me. I also noticed in my course of treatment that he often ignored the allergies listed on my chart. Numerous times he prescribed me benzoyl peroxide, which I am allergic to. It only would have taken him a minute to glance at this info. In the end, he referred me to a different doctor for accutane treatment because he didn't know how to treat me. The Dr. I was referred to said that my skin wasn't severe enough for… accutane. I went back to Dr. Lichtenstein, and he was furious. He would yell at me and treat me with some weird form of hostility. I don't know why this is. Maybe I was a reminder of his failure as a "Doctor" to treat skin. I have to say that his office staff was superb! The girls in the office were always warm, kind and friendly. I think they were the only reason I looked forward to going to Dr. Lichtenstein.
