Dr. Stephen M Panebianco, MD

At first my husband and I found him knowledgeable concerning my husband's numerous health issues. However, he quickly became quite irritating and condescending in his manner with us. He spent more time entering information into the medical records, or looking up previous test results than he did with actually examining/speaking with my husband. We come prepared to our appts. with our concerns already in hand, however, he is NOT prepared for US, which wastes our precious 15 minute visit! Furthermore, getting a straightforward, easy to understand explanation became impossible without my resulting in being assertive as to his answering our questions. Getting an appt. with him now is nearly impossible, and when my husband was discharged from the ICU at a local hospital recently, the notes clearly stated he should follow up with his Primary Care Physician (Dr. Panebianco) within 1-2 WEEKS. However, his follow-up appt isn't for 4 MORE MONTHS! We're asking the VA to assign us another… PCP, as we strongly feel that Dr. Panebianco is clearly NOT interested in treating my husband. Even the Home Health Care Nurse assigned to my husband can't reach him, or get him to respond to her messages to return her calls, which is all part of HER being able TO DO HER JOB - communicating with my husband's PCP! This is very poor care, and in our opinion, borders on negligence on his part. It is our opinion that he overstates his care beliefs and qualifications. If he were truly as good as he claims to be; why would he take a job with the VA - which is very demanding, and has an ever-increasing overload of patients? In this setting, he can hardly practice what he claims here on these web pages. We could not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr Panebianco is a caring, progressive thinking, charismatic professional who deeply cares about me, my family, and responds to most of my health issues and concerns in a prompt, easy to understand manner.He is a "Gift" to ALL Veterans, working very hard in a semi "failed" system!

This person is very stuck on himself.Inappropriate attitude.Would rather hear himself talk, than listen to the patient.
