Dr. Paul B Murphree JR., MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Murphree’s for almost 4 years. Dr. Murphree is quintessential perfection in what everyone wishes for in regards to their physician: Dr. Murphree puts one at ease just by virtue of his calm, patient, non-hurried demeanor and orchestrates the visit also in a calm deliberate procedural way. I am a hyper-energy personality and being at the doctor's office amplifies that because I am more self-conscious of wanting to communicate concisely as I tend towards verbosity - however, Dr. Murphree has never exhibited by his expression or body language or responses anything other than a gracious, thoughtful non-judgmental demeanor! Dr. Murphree’s responses and the information he imparts are communicated with thoroughness, clarity and a non-demeaning manner. At yesterday's appointment, he was assisted by Melissa who was in perfect step with Dr. Murphree insofar as her demeanor and communications! In regards to Dr. Murphree’s office, from the moment one steps off the… elevator the experience of being greeted by the front desk arena team, to utilizing the restroom, then spending a brief time in the reception area and then on to the pre-exam area and finally to the examine room, there was a steady presence of vibrancy along with calm, order, procedures and processes! The whole office profile is one of wonderful ambiance and it is so recognizable that care and attention to every detail were executed with careful forethought on behalf of not only the patients but the staff as well! The first question is so great because it is palpable to patients and visitors if there is any dissension amongst the staff and/or staff and doctors. At Dr. Murphree's office, there is a warm respectful exchange and interactions observable, from the time I spent with any of the staff or when one is passing through areas to go from point A to point B or C.

Dr. Murphree's administrative staff is horrible. They take forever to return phone calls, and sometimes just don't, and they make things much more difficult than they need to be. Dusty used to be the "nurse" doing admin work for Dr. Murphree, and when I had a request while working with another doctor, she acted like I was asking for her unborn baby. She was rude and ignored me as long as she could until I continued calling and leaving message after message. Again recently, I needed help from Dr. Murphree to order labs. I went back and forth with Amy, leaving messages for a week, then after she didn't respond, I left another message and went back and forth with Emily until finally neither one of them responded to my call. I had to cancel my appointment with another doctor, because they couldn't get the administrative task (ordering labs) taken care of in two weeks! They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS. They only look at patients as dollar signs. They are not about first… helping the patients and their families. My husband went in to pick up my lab results at one point because I was sick and needed them quickly. I couldn't wait for them to mail them to me. They would not let him pick them up and refused to email them to me or post them on the portal. When I went to the ER for pain, and the ER doc told me to follow up with my OBGYN asap, Dusty gave me a hard time about trying to get in to see Dr. Murphree. They do not listen to your needs or concerns. The front desk staff is impatient and unkind as well. I had to go back in to the office to pick up the lab results since they would not give it to my husband, and they acted like I was nobody, just barely not ignoring me. They don't understand your concerns, and seem to be able to easily forget the fact that I wouldn't be in there if I weren't having medical concerns. There is no compassion for the patient on the other side of the counter. Dr. Murphree's staff are horrible people.
