Dr. Paul Terence Murphy, MD

Dr. Murphy surgically repaired a torn knee meniscus for me. I’ve read past reviews and I think a few people have been unfairly harsh on him. He doesn’t sugar coat anything, but I personally appreciate that. And as far as I am concerned, his personality has NOTHING to do with his surgical skills. He’s quiet and soft spoken, but he correctly diagnosed my issue, fixed it, and he’s good at what he does. Thats all I was hoping for at the VA. By the way… the staff at Bay Pines love the guy. They say, “you’re lucky if you get Dr. Murphy to perform your surgery”. I believe that.

Dr. Murphy performed a total hip replacement for me. his staff AND the staff post surgery were all extremely professional and sympathetic to every need and concern I had. The VA didn’t disappoint with anything involving this event. Overall, I have been admitted a total of 6 times in hospitals in life and both times I went through the VA was far superior than private corporate hospitals. All VA facilities should follow example of this one.

I find him arrogant seedy no bedside manner no personality he's not trustworthy my husband is seeing him I don't know how he's practicing

I saw Dr. Murphy for a hip consult. His emotional demeanor was cold as ice. Zero percent empathy. He manipulated my hip to the point of unbearable pain. My wife had to insist that he stop. He then went into his desk and pulled out synthetic hip material to explain the process of replacement. He communicated as if he were a robot. The interaction was the worst that I have ever experienced with a doctor. He needs to retire ASAP!

Dr. Murphy, told me everything would be ok That a total knee replacement was the correct course of action for me. I would be able to stand and walk without pain. Wow after the surgery I looked at my legs and they were equal length. I started to cry, In forty years they had never been equal length the right leg was always shorter and crooked. I now stand tall and walk straight. No limp, No pain, A Miracle God Bless You Dr. Murphy

Dr. Murphy had not even looked at my medical file or medical history prior to appointment.

staff at intake ignores you til you approach them. Felt like Dr "wasn't" there. Didn't even want to look at recent blood said he'd order his own. A real run around system to get needed surgery. Will try to get with a civilian Dr.

He is loved by insurance companies he's willing to do only what they allow not fight for what needs to be done

Awesome doctor. Treated me like the intelligent person that I am, and not like an idiot.

Seemed annoyed that I was there. Didn't like my discription of what was wrong with me and ignored my neck pain. Asked me what I wanted??? that's why I came to him.
