Dr. Paul D Sargent, MD

over my life ive had to deal with many phyciatrists and therapists while dealing with my mental health problems ive stuggled with severe OCD and health anxiety since i was 12. DR Sargent is by far the best psychiatrist ive ever had. He truly cares about the health and succses off his patiens. and will work with you to find a system that helps you live your best life.

Dr. Sargent is a true professional who really took the time to get to know me. Most psychiatrists only provide medications, but he actually spends a lot of time listening and engaging in therapy. We developed a treatment plan together that included ways to improve my sleep. He held me accountable to work on things that were in my control which I appreciated. I'm living a much better life now. Would highly recommend.

I Should’ve read these comments before starting therapy with him. The first visit being an hour wasn’t bad, we both discussed what we were expecting from each other going forward.I asked if he was open to certain medications and if not to tell me then and there if he wasn’t.However after the first appointment his demeanor changed. He would constantly talk over me. Constantly correct verbiage or input doubts and criticisms. It absolutely causes one to shutdown. He doesn’t let you speak after one sentence. He then would offer possibilities for help but leave the information partial/hanging till our next appointment(if he remembers) Can’t really do a lot in 25 minutes. I explained which medications worked and didn’t work and those that made me awfully sick. Our final visit he recommended me a medication that I discussed made me absolutely sick and visit the ER. He scoffed at the story. Said the medication puts people in a slumber not the ER. lol yes that’s what it did. It put me in a… slumber, I had to go to ER because of it. After hearing him cut me off and belittle me for the last time I got angry. Especially when he didn’t remember our conversation from day 1 or why I was in therapy to begin with. Don’t waste your time with someone whose going to make you feel worse than what you’re already feeling about yourself.

Dr. Sargent is one of the most compassionate doctors that I've ever known. He truly cares about his patients. He takes the time to really listen and understand his patients needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

CDR Sargent was more interested in talking about himself than my husband’s issues or ways to move forward. As a Naval Officer, who has specialized in traumatic brain injury, I would have expected more. I would NOT recommend him to others.

Overall my experience with Sargent was very poor. The total lack of professionalism in dealing with this practice is unbelievable especially considering the seriousness and weight of the matter being dealt with. Don't waste your time or money. Especially if you do not want to end up with some type of mental disorder when you didn't have one to begin with.
