Dr. Paul Douglas Slocum JR., MD

I saw Dr . Slocum a few times for a pain issue related to a previous surgery performed by another doctor in a different town . I was appreciative that he was direct and straightforward and told me what to expect . I became emotional because of my pain and finding out it is not going to disappear , which was hard to believe and accept . He did me a favor by shooting straight about the problem , though I kept repeating my questions because I was not wanting to hear the truth. He did not act annoyed , though in hindsight I probably was annoying . He seemed empathetic with my frustration and suffering and did not get flustered . He quickly ordered tests and connected me to a pain specialist and physical therapist and drew diagrams for me to understand the source of the pain . I found him PATIENT and easy to communicate with . I would recommend him to others and am grateful to have an explanation for my suffering and resources to manage it . I liked him and think others will too .
