After a number of years of an excellent relationship and treatment by Dr strom I moved back to Maryland. While his patient, he was instrumental in helping to diagnose a problem that has been followed at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I called his office yesterday to ask a GENERAL question. I was told because I was not a current patient that asking a question would not be possible. For what reason other than greed could I patient current or past not able to even ask the question.

Staff would not permit me to see doctor. Said I missed appointment. Eleven minutes late. Glaucoma patient, needed pressure reading. Turned away. Does doctor know?

Arrived Eleven minutes late. Front desk said I missed appointment! Have glaucoma. Asked for a pressure reading by tech. Again very hateful, mean demeanor, told me I missed appointment. Drove from Venice, traffic delay. My paperwork was unchanged. Needed pressure reading, serious eye pain. I was stunned! Doctor excellent. Staff worst ever. They will put him out of business! Glaucoma patient now without doctor! Cannot describe how terrible this is! Does doctor know?

First, their accounting practices are poor. The staff is unable to explain their complicated computer system. They charged me in full @ the time of my visit even though I have been a patient for several years. They added on $35 against a future payment from the insurance company. They gave me a receipt and told me I would have a credit of $35 until the insurance paid them. Their billing clerk has refused to acknowledge this credit because she can't find it in her system even though I sent her paper copies of what I was given. The insurance paid them the same I amount I paid the doctor but it took them 6 weeks to reimburse my credit card after repeated phone calls from me. Second, the doctor and his assistant have made an error on my prescriptions for glasses and contacts for two years in a row.

My appointment was for 9:30 AM. I was detained by an accident which was going to cause me to be late--I called to let the office know I was on my way and would be there shortly. The receptionist said as long as I was within 15 minutes of my appointment time, I would be ok. I arrived there at 9:40. I did not have questionnaire information completed so was told I had to be cancelled. This was my first appointment; I had driven from east of I-75; and was delayed by something out of my control--my appointment was cancelled. I felt the office atmosphere was rude and uncaring--they couldn't have cared less about why I was 10 minutes late. Needless to say, I WILL find another eye doctor!

Dr Paul Strom is an outstanding doctor. He shows so much compassion. Dr Strom performed cataract surgery twice - first on one eye and the other eye two weeks after. I am extremely pleased with the results of both surgeries. I no longer wear glasses. I feel great and see beautifully. I would recommend HIM to everyone!! His staffs were kind, efficient, and showed that they cared about you as an individual.

Outstanding doctor. Saved my Father's sight when we moved here from New England. Found Father had wrong medicine configuration. Very kind and patient with elderly and confused patients. Our family now patients of Dr. Strom. Easy office access and parking off main route near Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Lucky to have Dr.Strom practicing in Sarasota.
