Dr. Paul Vigo

I feel the need to convey my negative experience for the protection of others prior to their decision to enroll in care with Paul Vigo. I was referred to Vigo after a tough bout of bronchitis due to allergies. My relief to finally see a specialist was short-lived. Vigo always seemed rushed when seeing me, with chats as short as 2 minutes before leaving and sending a PA in to run tests. I have seen Vigo 4-5 times in office without an official diagnosis or betterment of my symptoms. In two separate instances, he said "I don't know". He contradicted himself across visits. Once, as he was walking me out after another unproductive visit, I made the suggestion for blood testing, after which point he said "Oh, didn't we do that already?". We had not. He once offered to prescribe me doxycycline to combat the chest infection. I cautiously reminded him that we had just done a round of this antibiotic in the prior month without success, but was willing to do this again if he saw fit. Upon… hearing the prior usage, he said, "Oh, we've done that already? Ok, nevermind." Vigo never followed up on tests, so I would call in about a week later to remind him to look at the tests (scans or blood work) for him to do an interpretation. Interpretations were always incredibly vague and seemingly lazy (see example). In my last appointment with him before switching care (essentially firing him and moving to another specialist), I asked, "So just to clarify, there has not been a diagnosis?" He answered "No. I don't know yet." Said after 5 visits, countless billable breathing tests, non-productive in office nebulizer sessions (billing, and I have the same machinery and prescription at home), and three months of appointments. I have spent $811.12 in three months under the care of Paul Vigo, and he was unable to arrive at a diagnosis. United Health Care's 2nd Opinion Service has disagreed with Paul Vigo's timeline of care, as has an allergist colleague of mine that practices at Northwestern. As a doctor in a separate specialty, I leave this review with great weight. In my own situation, I would quickly be terminated for matching actions, specifically mental errors and lack of case specifics. I leave this in an effort to help others that need effective care for asthma and allergy related illnesses.

More interested in your money than your health. Charges considerably more for allergy drops than elsewhere, requires multiple appointments before giving you the drops, charges you for appointment cancellation. Not recommended.

I ahve had trust issues with doctors for as long as I can remember. I felt so at ease in Dr, Vigo's office from the start. His staff is extremely polite and comforting. I never felt rushed, or like I was a number. He takes the time to make sure you understand what it is that is happening in your body, so that you will better understand the routine he will create for you. I was so happy to have found him.

I lost my job and my insurance so I had to go to a free clinic in Round Rock and there is where I saw Dr. Vigo as my physician. He volunteers there some Saturday. He was treating me for terrible asthma and allergies. I also get hives. He treated me so well with a good regimen of medications and gave me free samples that I could not afford to buy otherwise. He also explained to me why severe uncontrolled allergies can lead to asthma and sinus infections. Now that my allergies are controlled, even my hives are gone! He and the staff at SAcred Heart FRee CLinic are very compassionate and caring volunteers!!!! God Bless!!!
