Dr. Paula Cavens, MD

She was very unprofessional when speaking to my teenage daughter. I did not enjoy her passive aggressive comments. Her tone was cold and dismissive and it felt like she just wanted the appointment to be over already. We will no longer be seeing her.

Dr. Cavens took her time with my appointment. She was thorough and answered all of my questions. I could truly tell that she cares about her patients.

I can't believe that I'm not alone in how Dr. Cavens treated me. She was super rude and disrespectful. I had questions regarding my illness and she actually yelled at me over the phone for calling her on her direct line that SHE provided to me if I had any questions. She talked bad about the midwives which was inappropriate and unprofessional because the midwives were more professional and caring than Dr. Cavens. Please do not have Dr. Cavens treat you. After reading other women's experiences, I'm sad that she is known to be rude and to yell at patients that are already in a vulnerable state when they see her.

Cavens has no bedside manners and will discourage treatment, bring in students without asking your permission, refuse to leave the exam room when you ask for some privacy, and claims that medicaid insurance users are a hog on the system. She threatened me, belittled me, and I have reported her to several regulatory boards.

This doctor is extremely unprofessional. After months of planning a surgery for a hysterectomy and scheduling an appointment. I called her a couple days before the surgery to get a confirmation of the time of arrival and hospital entrance and she decided to cancel my entire surgery because "I still had questions." After not being happy that I asked her to do a vaginal surgery instead of an incision, from the beginning of planning I could tell that she was scared of doing the surgery but she still decided to schedule me anyways. Every visit she was running in and out, laughing with staff, making inppropraite comments about my vagina etc. Once she cancelled my appointment after I took off weeks of work without a valid reason, I went up to the office to figure out why and she lied to the nurse and said she canceled it because I was calling all week and the only time I called was that once. I believe she knew she was not able to perform the surgery she agreed too and she should have said… that from the very beginning. I would not recommend her to anyone EVER.

This doctor is very unprofessional , i was seeing her for my prenatal visits , she would only go in and out of the room , and she was always in a bad mood, it looks like she doesn't care about her patients , specially me that i am pregnant , she would get mad when i would ask her questions . That is her job as a doctor to care for your patients especially if i'm pregnant, but no she would even get mad when i would go in if i wasn't feeling good. She would be like " I shouldn't even be seeing patients right now!!", she would always give me an attitude for every little thing. One day she almost made me cry because she was screaming at me and just being so mean and unprofessional . I decided to change to another doctor and she is so nice and caring not like her that wouldn't care about her patients ....
