Dr. Paula Salas, MD

Dr Salas is both my husband and my PCP. She takes time to know us and seems to truly care about all aspects of our well-being.

I am changing to another doctor. She never responds to my calls for test results. I have been trying to get results of x-rays taken over a month ago. I have called the office several times and I get lied to every time. I have called the office everyday for the past week and I still cannot get a call or an answer from the office staff. I am done with her. This has been going on for two years. She might be a good Dr. I don't know, but if you can't get any answers from her, what good is she. I would not recommend her .

Dr. Salas was very personable and I liked her. The problem is the office staff. Prescriptions, referrals, and lab results are almost impossible to get without numerous calls to the office. I have had to pay two fairly high bills because she did order two bloodwork panels that had almost the exact same tests on them so I had four tests that were doubled. I think being the doctor she would have made sure she wasn't ordering the same tests twice.

Dr. Salas was recommended to me from another doctor. She is very nice and knowledgeable, but she nor her staff get back with you regarding lab results EVER. She charges three times as much for an office visit as my endocrinologist to basically do nothing. I bring her my lab results now from my endocrinologist and to have her put them in my file ends up costing me over $300 a visit. If I didn't need prescriptions from her, I wouldn't have to see her.

I have only one issue with this office: my insurance requires "prior authorization" on certain medications, every 6 months, and the process is for the pharmacy to fax a request for prior auth to the MD office, and the Dr. either authorizes or declines, and sends to the insurance company. I have had problems with the office sending for prior authorization, which means I have been without needed medications, while waiting for the prior auth. This is not just a problem in this office, there seems to be a breakdown in this system in other doctors' offices, but it is a real problem with this office. Otherwise Dr. Salas is a good doctor, very knowledgeable and accurate. I do not find that she orders too many tests, nor some of the other issues which have been mentioned. She reviews lab results with me at the next visit, unless there is something which requires attention, then I get a phone call.

There is a reason I'm switching Doctors...this office is very unprofessional and unfriendly. You cannot even get a copy of your own medical records without paying for them and Dr Salas is very happy with ordering a lot of test to drive up cost. The office personnel is rude as well

Dr. Salas is very knowlegable and professional. I reccomend her to others.Very thorough and clear explanations.

I have read two reviews saying that Dr. Salas did not pay any attention to them and was on the computer. I found that she listened to me very carefully, was very compassionate and and excellent in her treatment with me. The use of the computer is simply her doing charting rather than dictating her report which insures that every thing she has done with the patient is documented....I did not notice that it took any of her attention away from me at all. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

she does not get back to you with test results. when you spend all day at the hospital having test run i'm sure you should hear something after 7 days.

Should have review previous medical file from doctor whos practice she assumed. Was to busy with laptop to look or really listen to patient. From Tues. morning to, at this point, Friday afternoon has not returned the hospitals radialogy dept. request to upgrade mamogram order. Nor has she returned patiens calls to do the same. She lacks "bedside manner" and professionalism which does not enstill confidence in the patient
