I have been a patient of his for YEARS and he does not like to make changes to meds. A patient should be able to be their own advocate and be an active participant in their plan of care but Dr. Garg doesn’t agree. I feel that what I say goes in one ear and out the other. When I tell him the meds don’t work and I want to make changes, he literally just tells me no. I reiterate that I shouldn’t feel this way if I were properly medicated and it just always falls on deaf ears. I could go on and on about every reason why I gave him such a low rating, but not wanting to write scripts is enough of a reason since it’s been well established that many mental health issues are a result of brain chemical imbalances, and psychiatric medications are supposed to be used in conjunction with other treatments, such as therapy. To see him ever three months, pay cash (he doesn’t take my insurance) and then receive NO treatment is not acceptable to me. I’m still scheduled for an appointment but only… until I find someone better.

This man helps at the psych ward at Wyandotte hospital and also has a practice which is open to urgent needs almost daily. There are not many men of his caliber in this field and is also a good person.

This dr. Is outstanding. The office is not run well. They schedule too many patients and the trick is to get the first appointment of the day to avoid long waits. But his quality of care is the best.

Rarely on-time for appointments. I had a 4:30 PM appointment to the dr. I was was not called into the office to talk until 5:50 PM!!! and then my appt was only 5 minutes long. When I told him what was going on, he said I was doing too much and was under stress. He then asked what medications he should prescribe for me. He's the dr. and should look at my medical conditions and review my current medication and prescribe appropriately. Does not respond to pharmacy request for renewal of scripts. The patient must call in or be seen to receive a prescription. The regular receptionists were not in the office and the telephone was answered by a woman with a heavy Indian/Pakistan accent, and was very rude. Wanted me to call back because the other phone was ringing!!!

Seeing a new psychiatrist is an apprehensive moment in any patient's life. I had a doctor "discharge" me because of a medication misunderstanding. All of a sudden, I was done. I cannot fault the doctor for getting rid of me, but I had it coming. Dr Garg showed me ObamaCare version of big brother. There is no privacy anymore. However, Dr Garg assured me that if I had any questions or problems to call him immediately. I think it's going to be a lot less scary experience than I thought.
