Dr. Payvand Tiurchy, MD

I have been impressed with Dr Tiurchy's patient advocacy when he recommended specialists, clear health assessments, checking me for understanding diagnosis and clarifying prescription use, taking time with returning to him over the years for checking on my family and general well being. He is a wonderful family practice doctor, with a depth of experience to draw upon when assessing symptoms and illness. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Tiurchy is truly the best physician I have ever been a patient of. He is kind, friendly, cares about his patients, and most importantly takes the time to listen. He always provides valuable insight and recommendations, and has never been dismissive of my concerns. I will be moving out of state soon, and my greatest regret is that I will have to find a new doctor! Appointments are always prompt and all the staff is warm and empathetic. Just can’t say enough great things about the practice, I recommend Dr. Tiurchy to anyone seeking care!

Run away from this Doctor. Saw Payvand Tiurchy last year for yearly exam. They called me this year to schedule another physical. Because of Covid-19 I was a reluctant to go to Dr. office - so I said I would think about what I wanted to do. They sent me a letter saying that they will not see me anymore for Patient non-compliance. That is fine I don't need them anyway. Nothing extraordinary about this Doctor I can find another one easily. But what bothers me is the Covid world we live in. It shows me they care nothing about me or my health. Just how much $$$ they can make off of me! So if you are looking for a Doctor that cares about his patients health then Run fast to another Doctor.

First time patient, won’t be seeing this joke again. This ‘Doctor’ was beyond disrespectful, condescending and made me feel as if my questions and concerns were invalid. He made assumptions and made remarks regarding my health that were totally unnecessary. The appointment overall was a waste of time and money. Would not recommend this ‘medical professional’ to anyone.

Dr. Tiurchy and his staff provide excellent care across the board. Thorough, responsive, and always willing to take the time to go the extra mile.

Dr. Tiurchy and his staff are a strange group. Why are they even practicing medicine? Dr. Tiurchy and his staff doesn't treat patients as people and they are presumptive and rude. This doctor dropped me as a patient out of the blue because he and his staff can't get anything right and jumped to every conclusion possible like they have no minds at all. Dr. Tiurchy was prescribing me Adderall, even though it is harmless and given to millions of children in the US for attention deficit, it is strangely on the controlled substance list. I have been taken it for many years, a drug medical diagnoses proved I needed. He out of the blue decides to treat me like a convict and forces me into a drug test after prescribing this medication for months to make sure I wasn't taking anything else. It was a horrible experience because I had not been told about this test and I had just went to the rest room so I had to sit in the office and drink water for an hour so I could give urine. His… unprofessional staff treated me even more badly when I was drinking the water because they just assumed I was trying to avoid taking the test. I completed the test but explained to the doctor that I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy the day before. Most people get put under for these procedures but I told the medical center where these procedures were performed that I would rather take a pain medication, instead. I didn't ask for a new pain prescription because I didn't need it, I had two left over pills from a prescription about 4 years earlier. The taking of this medication as a pain control option instead of being put under for the procedure was documented by the nurse in my chart at the medical center where these procedures were performed. So I did everything by the book and my explanation as to why there was pain medication in my system was well documented. So I had absolutely done nothing wrong or inappropriate. But this unreasonable and presumptive doctor and his staff still dumped me as a patient because due to the procedures at the medical center the day before, I failed the test. What other people do is their business, I don't judge people, if they want to drink or take drugs, it is up to them, but I have never been an addict and have never used an illegal drug and I don't even drink or smoke. But I still get treated like a drug addict by these absurd people. They never even attempted to call me and ask for an explanation. What is wrong with giving a patient some respect? Even if I had chosen to be put under at the medical center instead of taking a pain pill, I would have still failed the test because of the other drugs their doctors would have placed in my system. I had a medical procedure at a medical center, why can't these absurd people understand this? Everything I told them is documented and could be verified. Dr Tiurchy is the one who referred me to the doctor that performed these procedures at the medical center, so when you think about it, doesn't this make Dr. Tiurchy kind of stupid? So I find out at the last minute that I had no doctor, can't get referrals, and no prescriptions until I can find another doctor. He probably placed this drug test failure into some sort of database as well causing me even more problems. I am going to send him a legal letter asking exactly what he did with this information and if he reported it to some database or to the DEA labeling me as a doctor shopper when it was because of him and his incompetent staff's mistake, I will take this doctor to court with a vengeance he has probably never seen in his lifetime. When his staff member brushed all this off making sure I knew they didn't care about any problems this caused me, I asked to speak with the doctor and she said I couldn't. I then asked if I could leave the doctor a message in his machine, and she said I couldn't. I asked if the doctor could call me, and she said he wouldn't. Who treats patients like this? She said no explanation I have matters because I signed a contract stating that I would not have a controlled substance medication prescribed by another doctor while I was a patient of his. I asked her to read to me the exact text of the contract I violated and it was clear I didn't violate the contract because I had not received a prescription since being his patient. The contract did not say to list, not consume, or throw away any left over prescriptions from past doctors sitting in my medicine cabinet. It did say to list what I was currently taking and I hadn't taken a pain pill in four years that is why it was four years old so it wasn't currently being taken at that time. Ask any lawyer or any judge, what it states in contracts is what matters. I was told all this happened to me because I violated their contract but I just proved I didn't violate the contract. Guess what happened next, do you think these nasty people apologized, not a chance? They proved at this instant that I the patient didn't matter, the situation they placed me in didn't matter, the truth didn't matter, what mattered is that they are to good to be wrong and I had the phone hung up on me and no I wasn't being rude or raising my voice. These unprofessional people were rude enough for the both of us. There are a lot of good doctors in Jacksonville. I would suggest avoiding these insane people. While my situation is unique and this chain of events will likely not happen to you, I learned how this doctor and his staff, a match made in heaven, are equally rude, unprofessional, and presumptive. Immediately to them I was a drug addict and even though I explained that the medical center can confirm with documentation, I the patient still didn't matter. Do you really want to trust your medical care with a doctor and a half baked staff like this bunch?

Just perfect. Everything went smooth. Great bedside manner. Will go back again.

I saw Dr T. for a simple Physical. Rather than address the issues on my intake forms he chose to spend the entire visit trying to get me to take statins. I hadn't even had my tests done yet. I had told him I had high cholesterol. Soon he got quite angry , implied I'm a conspiracy nut, bragged about his education, denigrated my education, and told me to never come back again. Again, he never addressed the symptoms on my intake form. Wasted my free annual physical. If you are the type of person who researches your own health and take more into account than AMA recommendations then this Dr. may not be for you. If you like to treat your Dr. as a demi god on the other hand you may just like him.

A wonderful Doctor. Great in many ways. Hard to describe. You have to experience it yourself.

Dr Tiurchy is very professional and knowledgable. I genuinely feel that he cares for each and every one of his patients. I've never felt more comfortable with any other doctor. He addresses my concerns and always makes great recommendations.
