Extremely unprofessional practice, do not recommend to anyone

Dr. Guimares has always been very kind and professional to me, and is always willing to listen and work with me on what needs to be done. He does not do therapy and there are very few psychiatrists who do.

I have struggled with a severe eating disorder for over 10 years and with it comes depression, anxiety and all sorts of trouble. I have been to the top therapists, doctors and treatment centers in the world over my lifetime and no one comes close to the abilities of Dr. Guimaraes. His approach, knowledge and professionalism is world class. He treats you as an individual and your case unique to you. He doesn't just throw meds at you and send you on your way. He listens to your concerns, your lifestyle, your history and your wishes in order to find the best solution even if that means trying something alternative or different. He truly cares about you and your well being and wants to see you succeed. If something isn't working he genuinely wants to know why and come up with a better solution. I have had many "crisis's" come up and have always been able to get in right away to see him or speak to him no matter how last minute. Dr. Guimaraes equally shines in his ability as a therapist. He… is hands down the smartest person I have ever encountered. He possesses a special gift in understanding people, getting to underlying issues and setting you on the path to success. It has been shocking to me the things he comes up with when we talk. He is right on about everything he says and really makes me think about things on a deeper level. For the first time in my life I am almost completely abstinent from my eating disorder and I honestly owe so much of it to Dr. Guimaraes and his support and guidance. He never judges me or what I've done or been through. I know I can rely on him for any sort of help I need. The fact that he is an expert on medications as well just makes him unbeatable. If I could give him 10 stars above I would. Thanks Dr. G!

Dr. Guimaraes is understanding, attentive, and tries to find the best solution for your mental health condition without just prescribing medications. He is very knowledgeable, very detailed, listens to the patients carefully, excellent doctor. He has helped me to win fight agents depression. Office stuff is friendly and nice and always ready to help.

You can not understand a word he says, Daniel one of the girl that works in the front office is completely incompetent. Every single time I need a prescription refill she gives ne trouble. The pharmacy needs to fax a request to the Dr in order for them to refill your prescription, well she always pretends she never received the fax or it takes days for her to get the request to the Dr. I can never get an appt, if I call in she always says their schedule is full and the earliest appt is a month from now. Thanks goodness he hired another receptonist to help Daniel with her work. The other receptionist is very nice and will go out of her way to help you. The Dr is very pill happy, he doesn't really listen to your concerns. He just talks for 5 mins about how are your meds are working, writes a new prescription and off you go. If you need therapy I strongly suggest you seek other therapist, there are tons of other good Psychiatrist on the central coast. Definantly seek another office it you… want to avoid the hassle with the dumb blonde receptionist.
