Dr. Peggy Smith Eicher, MD

I searched from Boston to Los Ángeles for help as my kid got a g-tube and would not eat by mouth. My kid struggled to gain weight and was very slow in his gross motor skill set. Finally, I was referred to dr. Eicher’s office. My kid was rid of the g-tube. We are grateful for dr. Eicher and her team. We met people from all over the country coming to the clinic and exchanged the same success stories.

When my dtr was a toddler and struggling with therapy, we traveled across the country to see Dr. Eicher. On the verge of getting a trache and with me and dad alternating staying awake to suction out dtr, Dr Eicher rescued us! She instantly knew that Sarah was aspirating her own secretions and needed a jtube instead of the gtube. We also began a course of feeding therapy. Sarah instantly “dried up” and we never used the suction machine again. She had her tube permanently removed at age 4 and is thriving now. We will forever be grateful to Dr. Eicher!!!

My son attended her feeding clinic. They force fed him until he sometimes threw up. They said they had an extremely high success rate with children who didn't eat enough, like our son. When his time was up after 5 weeks, they deemed him a success, even though he still hated eating, could only eat pureed foods (a step back for him), had stopped talking as a result, and was still considered failure to thrive because he wasn't gaining enough weight due to lack of calories. He ended up having to go on a feeding tube, which was what we were trying to avoid by taking him to Dr. Eicher's feeding clinic. Although I don't have any concrete proof, I blame much of my son's behavioral issues now on the conditions he was forced to endure at that feeding camp and the directives Dr. Eicher had us put him through at home following feeding camp. (For example, feeding him so much that he often threw up, then having to re-feed him, just to get enough calories in him so he wouldn't lose any more weight).… Having him on a feeding tube worked out much better for us and I wish we had never attended that feeding clinic or met Dr. Eicher.
