Dr. Peggy JB Scurry, MD

I went to see Dr. Scurry starting in 2011 at the silver spring location, she was great! She is very knowledgeable very helpful, and very sweet! More recently she had to take a leave of absence and so my last appointment was at HUH, TERRIBLE!! I miss Dr. Scurry! I see that a lot of the bad reviews here have more to do with billing than Dr. Scurry (I myself have had terrible experiences with HUH's billing regarding an emergency room bill from my freshman year!)

HORRIBLE! I went to see Dr. Scurry for a well women's visit in 2008. I paid my copay and my insurance also paid. 2 years later, I start receiving calls from a collection agency saying I owe $197. I have since been trying to reach the Dr's billing office to no avail. They'll put you on hold and "accidentally" hang up, or it will be their voicemail. I am still trying to resolve something that I am 100% sure I am not at fault, but they won't even respond to my inquiries.

It took forever to see her, but I understood why when it was my turn. She's patient and takes her time with every patient! She answered my questions and didnt feel rushed as others have made me feel!

- My files were lost and my business announced over and intercom.-They misplaced my test results. No wonder when I called again and again asking for the results they had no clue what I was talking about. -I had an appointment and I waited over an hour and 20 min to be seen - I was spoken to rudely by staff -In the end I took my file and left!- On the plus, when I finally did get past the bad staff / assistant dr. and finally talked with the Dr. in her messy and disorganized office, she did make me feel somewhat comfortable.

My visit to Dr. Scurry's office a few years ago resulted in the immediate resolution to a condition. The results were great.

Be careful if you are going to visit this doctor. I had been seeing her for a condition over the past several years. She never gave me clear advice about what to do about the condition. Additionally, I was supposed to meet with her about a report regarding the condition. She was not at the meeting. She was supposed to follow-up with me and never did. I have switched doctors and will never see Dr. Scurry again. I would not recommend her at all. I also had a problem with the billing. I was over-charged and am currently disputing the charges with the company.

Be sure to check your medical bill after going to this doctor. She took additional samples and ordered extra testing without discussing that she would do this and ordered additional tests (perhaps to get a higher reimbursement from the insurance). She never provided the results of these tests and I found out only after the lab tried to collect for my part of the fees (which totaled more than $1,000!!). I had to dispute the claim!
