Dr. Peter Ameglio, MD

Dr Ameglio was great all away around . I had seen 3 doctors, an immediately chose dr Ameglio to do my surgery. His technique is the least invasive . I am on week two and getting around great . I know friends who have had hip replacements and have taken months to do what I’m doing . I highly recommend Dr. Ameglio and his staff.

Dr Ameglio performed a bone fusion in my left foot In 2013 that over corrected a bunion issue and rendered 2 toes immovable. I continued to wear orthotic support in shoes, but the mechanics he used caused my big toe to bend to the right without support. He limply suggested maybe I could tape it.... I had corrective surgery 4 years later by another pediatric surgeon who used an innovative technique to bring the toe back into function. I would not recommend Dr Ameglio.

Dr. Amegio and his team are exceptional. I was so uncomfortable with the idea of hip replacement surgery and I put if off for a long time. While doing research of latest improvements in procedures I came across Dr.Ameglio and the SuperPath technique. My wife and Imet with Dr. Ameglio. He took the time to make both myself and wife comfortable with hip replacement surgery.. He spent time . Dr. Ameglio offered easy to understand answers. I was only in the hospital one day but saw Dr. Ameglio three times with him making sure I was doing well. If you need an orthopedic surgeon you'll do yourself a great disservice if you don't speak with Dr Ameglio.

Dr Ameglio used to practice in New England where I had multiple foot surgeries and post op infections which almost cost me my life as a result of a septic embolism. I later found out that I was not the only patient with post op infections as a result of my surgeries.

Dr. Ameglio and his staff were great he is a fine doctor . Surgery went well I was back to work very soon and pain-free thank you doctor Ameglio to you and the staff .

Dr. Ameglio was the only doctor that finally figured out why I was always breaking my right ankle. He ended up basically rebuilding my foot. That was years ago and I have not had any problems since. I highly recommend him. He has a wonderful manner and is very kind.

Dr. Ameglio is one of, if not the most, gifted medical provider I have ever encountered. It is literally without question that he was the deciding factor in helping me save my own mobility and independence, and in preventing years of further pain and struggle. Via exceptionally intelligent diagnoses, far above-average listening skills, and top-notch surgical skills, he ensured I was neither crippled in my 30s nor drug dependent, and provided the freedom for me to continue an active, healthy life. My gratitude to this doctor knows no bounds, and I am deeply sorry he is undergoing a public humiliation at this time that he absolutely does not deserve in any form.

Due to a rare genetic condition, I have spent most of my life in and out of surgeries and hospitals. Over the years you learn that most doctors are somewhat jaded and really could care less. I was overwhelmed by the amazing care that was offered by Dr. Ameglio. My first surgery with him was about three years ago when I had an infection in one of the bones in my foot. I had my first appointment with him on a Tuesday and he scheduled my surgery for the very next day. His follow up care was amazing and I couldn't ask anything more of his bedside manner. Fast forward a few years.... I came to see Dr. Ameglio after another surgeon had botched my knee surgery. He sat down with me, explained my MRI and what he would do to fix the issues with my knee. Due to my genetic condition, fixing my knee took a number of surgeries and a total knee replacement at age 33. My most memorable experience would have to of been at the beginning of my third surgery. While in the OR waiting for my surgery to… start, Dr. Ameglio came to the head of the bed, put one hand on my shoulder and held my hand with the other. He said " everyone, Melissa's had a hard time with this knee. Let's send her good thoughts and take great care of her!". He sat there holding my hand until I fell asleep. It was by far the most touching experience I've ever had with a doctor. As I'm writing this review, I'm two days away from my second knee replacement with Dr. Ameglio. I'm comforted by the fact that I know I'll be in great hands once again!

I had an appointment with Dr. Ameglio fo a knee injury.Although Dr, Ameglio was very friendly and nice, as the last review stated, he did not seem able to communicate the injury to me until I pointed out that he should use the "statue? of the knee , which at that point did refer to to explain my injury. He seemed unsure of the treatment, and I suggested a brace. I waited for the brace decisoon for about thirty minute. He decided on this "cadillac' brace that had to be ordered from Texas and wouldn't be here for two days.. Meanwhile I was sent home to wait with no brace at all to use for these two "waiting days" He gave me no directions on what to do for healing at home, and I left with nothing but an MRI appointment. On my way home I wrenched my knee . This made be quite upset, as if I had had just a basic brace , which you can get locally at any medical supply store, I wouldn't have done, Also the brace he reccomended, as I thought about it later , wouldn't have met my needs as I… had explained to him that I was havng trouble when I was sleeping as well. The brace he had chosen was too big and bulky to use while sleeping.. I called in to the office, and explained that they had braces at a medical supply store locally, so could he call me back about getting one for that evening. He never called me back ,
