Performed spinal fusion on my husband , left him disabled

husband had spinal fusion L2 to pelvis and he almost died from infection and fracture L2 , he did not know he had infection and would not fix fracture until we demanded it be fixed ,as per recommendation of two other second opinions disabled now can,t walk independently

I was amazed by this doctor's willingness to retract surgery plans based on my arrival for a final meeting 5 minutes late in traffic-ridden Manhattan. All our plans, financial and personal had to be cancelled. I drove over 100 miles for this final consultation regarding the 2 weeks of caregiving post-rehabilitation. His withdrawal was abrupt, whimsical, and irrational, spending less than 5 minutes and then rushing off to a meeting. I felt a mix of insecurity and self-importance on his part as though the outcome of the surgery would reflect on his career more than the patient. I can't imagine the potential outcome if these qualities would surface within him during the actual surgery itself. One must assume that they would. I strongly recommend a surgeon who has the complete interest of the patient at heart over and above his own image. There are plenty of wonderful surgeons out there. Dr. Angevine is DEFINITELY not one of them.

What a great dr. Compassionate, great bedside manner. Truly cares about his patients. Will spend as much time with you as you need. Explains everything in detail. Just a wonderful human being. He changed my life. I would have been in a wheelchair had I not had surgery with him. You couldn’t find a better doctor.

Found Dr. Angevine to be very outgoing, compassionate, and understanding. I was very pleased and happy to meet with him as I was very nervous going into the meeting. He made our decision very easy to go with him for surgery.i only wish it was done yesterday!

Dr. Angevine performed back surgery on me from L3 to S1. His bedside manor, his ability to diagnose the problem correctly are just outstanding. I cannot say enough good about this Doctor. I highly recommend him and have recommended him to a number of people since my surgery. He gave me my life back.

Never too busy to see or speak with his patients Initiative to take on challenges Attitude that is positive, upbeat and comforting to all Zealous manner, his persistence to succeed Insight, to make it all work out right He did not run into doing surgery, but gave me what to try first. I did try all before I said yes to surgery. I am sure a happy guy, with such positive change. He said give it a year after surgery and today is my1 year day and that is the reason I write this. Every day got better during the year just give it time, if he says will take time, trust Dr. Angevine.

Dr. Angevine performed a transformative surgery on my back. He fused eight vertebrae and, remarkably, after the operation I was almost completely pain free. He is a wonderful surgeon.
