Dr. Peter David Boasberg, MD

One of the best doctors ever!

Dr. Boasberg is the best doctor you will ever find anywhere, and I have been to many. He is my oncologist. He works out of the Angeles Clinic in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles. He is wicked smart and cares about his patients.Not only does he have a great bedside manner, he also never lies or guesses. He won't sugar coat a thing if you ask him not to (I hate that). Some doctors who are as kind as Dr. Boasberg are also the one's that try their best to give you the sunny side of your illness and maybe skip the part that they think you don't need to hear. Dr. Boasberg will do that, I guess, if you ask. For me, I get facts and for me that is important. I don't need my hand held. But he does that too. He treats me like the educated person I am and does not dumb down things to make them more palatable. He knows everything about cancer and more, and he is up to date on all latest research and publications. He is by far the best doctor at Angeles Clinic and all are good, but go to Dr.… Boasberg. Most of his patients, I think, are melanoma or blood disorder patients, but he deals in all types of cancer. He is not a breast cancer specialist, go to him anyway. I had Dr. Martino who was great but moved on so I picked Dr. Boasberg instead of who was recommended to me, because I had seen him once before when my oncologist was out. I was on Taxol and it was poisoning me. I was insistent on continuing and I am very strong headed. Dr. Boasberg convinced me to switch to Taxotere, he told me the Taxol was causing neuropathy and he was right. He did not give up as I told him I knew how bad my cancer was and would not stop treatment to go to something else. He listened to me, as I repeated myself and was adamant. He was amazing. It is very hard to talk me off a position, but he did it, and I can walk because of him. Had I one more Taxol treatment I would be in a wheelchair. I am in remission and see Dr. Boasberg for all follow ups and for everything else. I also have Crohn's and I have a gastro, but I do nothing, I don't take a pill, I don't have a procedure without talking to Dr. Boasberg. I know I should not be treating him as my primary care physician, but I do, and he knows I trust few others, so he now knows an awful lot about Crohn's. I don't think there are a lot of reviews here, because Dr. Boasberg's patients are quite sick and I bet private. I am shocked myself that I am putting all of this on the World Wide Web, but if I get one person to the right doctor, then so be it. You will love Dr. Boasberg. If he can he will save your life. He has mine, more than once.

I have been a patient of Dr Boasberg for over 7 yrs. He is a kindest, caring and professional physician you will ever meet. He saved my life after being diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer. I went to see Dr. Boasberg after a CT scan showed I may have cancer. Dr. Boasberg saw me immediately and had me at the surgeon the next day. The following day they did the surgery. Unfortunately the cancer was throughout my body. Dr. Boasberg reassured me that he could treat me and that my prognosis was good. He started me on low dose chemo twice a month for 6 months. I was shocked when he told me that I was 100% cancer free. He did say it may come back but what results. Dr. Boasberg and The Angeles Clinic are a team of EXPERTS who specialize in the tough cases. They also run clinical trials through the drug companies who use drugs of the future now. Thank you Dr. Boasberg for giving me a new lease on life.
