Dr. Peter Noneng Bretan, MD

Dr. Bretan hardly went over my semen analysis results at all, almost immediately started ordering a bunch of labs and I had to ask what each one was because he didn't explain them. When I asked a follow up question for clarity, he became sarcastic, rude and just had a bad attitude. I walked out of him and the office, extremely frustrated. I will never go back. The front office and tech were nice and helpful but Dr. Bretan was impatient and treated me like a child.

Dr. Bretan has not responded to my multiple attempts to contact him regarding what I consider to be excessive pain and abnormal symptoms following a procedure. I have lost faith and will not go back.I thought surgeons are supposed to CARE about their patients post surgical well being. He does not appear o be one of them.

This is all just my simple opinion. I felt throughout the process my condition was trivialized. A condition may seem trivial to a doctor that seen it many times however, its not trivial to the patient. I have seen vets treat my dog with more tact. However to be fair, the treatment was successful. I would rather have a doctor who not only treats you successfully but, treats you well.

DR, BRETAN IS ALWAYS CLEAR AS TO THE TREATMENT HE WANTS TO FOLLOW AND WHY.HE GIVES DITRCT ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS.

Dr. Bretan seems to be very knowledgeable in his area of practice. He's very straightforward and direct which some patients could view as being dry and disconnected, but those aren't his intentions. I have no reservations about his qualifications. The only problem is that I have never been seen on time, and this jeapordizes my returning to work on time. I had one of the first appointment times but wasn't called in until 45 minutes afterward.

I highly recommend Dr Bretan. He inspires your confidence and is a great surgeon. He is very dedicated to helping people.

I find Dr. Bretan and his staff very friendly and helpful. I have been seeing Dr. Bretan since his start in Novato .

Easy to get an appointment. "You have high PSA" ( using what standards?)"lets do a biopsy tomorrow". Not enough info, rationale, or confidence in his exam. Opted out of biopsy. Opted out of using this DR.

Staff is pushy and not well-trained. I needed an appointment right away, and they were the only ones available (gosh, I wonder why??). They spent over an hour making sure that I had insurance, and still asked for my driver's license number over the phone prior to the appointment. They also had me arrive early to fill out some forms, most of which were marketing questionaires from two drug manufacturers (for ED and BPH drugs). They were very strict about this part-- I hadn't noticed one of the pages on the ED form-- I was being seen for a kidney stone-- so she made sure I filled it out. The exam consisted of urinalysis and taking my temperature with a Thermoscan, which requires some skill to find the ear canal-- the lady stuck it on my outer ear and got a wrong reading. (I had a fever, and she said it was 98.5. Just to be sure, I took my temperature in the car on the way home-- 100.1). That was the entire exam! No Blood Pressure check even! Then, the doctor came in, didn't examine me at… all, and tried to get me to have him do the surgery. After such a horrible vibe I got from his lousy lousy staff, and the fact that he didn't even look at me, I politely declined. There is a reason that he was available on short notice: he's terrible. I haven't seen the bill yet, but I am tempted to have my insurance company dispute some or all of it-- I am sure that they will charge a fortune for doing exactly nothing.
