Dr. Peter Michael Denk, MD

Do not waste your time with this doctor! I have been a patient for two and a half years and I have been planning on having surgery as soon as I had full coverage. In Dec 2021, I spoke with the insurance authorization specialist @ Dr Denk's office and she told me to get specific insurance that they see approves this particular surgery on a regular basis. So I did. But now they are saying that I am out of network?!?!! This is my life they are playing with! After finding out they screwed up, I tried reaching out to the doctor but I can't even get a call back (despite being diagnosed with something I need surgery for). If I weren't so driven to get my health back on track- this could have derailed my good health for ANOTHER YEAR!?? If for nothing else, you would think Dr Denk would be upset that his long-time patient is finally ready and able to pony up and spend $150,000 on the surgery he has recommended for years, but due to his incompetent and rude office staff, I am taking my business… elsewhere.?? It would be nice if doctors would staff their offices with people who realize that they are there to help us get better, rather than hinder that process.

Please use Dr.Denk with caution. He was unable to make sound clinical decisions for my family member after he performed routine gallbladder surgery. The outcome was fatal and a very tragic event for our family. There were clear clinical signs while my family member was in the hospital that should have been recognized as a problem post operative. I send this out as a general concern for the future patients of his.

I am a 42 yr State Farm agent retiring Sep 1st. I had fundoplication surgery several years ago by Dr. Denk. Long story short: My Barrett's Esophagus has been gone every since and I continue to enjoy eating just about any food group that I desire. In my career I produced a substantial amount of life insurance and many of those death claims have been victims of throat cancer. Thank you Dr. Denk for saving my life. Jerry Ortner P.S. I am a Wayne State University graduate (Detroit, Mi.) and knew that being a University of Michigan graduate, Dr. Denk's back ground would bode well for my surgery.

I had Fundiplication surgery by Dr. Denk I was having a lot of problem s with constipation after I returned to eating solid food. Because the Dr. Told me that I could have constipation for a month or so after I return Ed to solid food. I WAITED FOR THINGS TO BECOME NORMAL. I GAVE IT A YR PLUS. WHEN I went back to Dr. Denk an described the pain and probl I was having, he laughed it off saying It was just constipation. I told him it was more. He left the RM for me to dress. When I came out he was laughing in an irritated way telling his staph the he don't know why these people keep coming to him for constipation issues. I was very upset, and will never go back to him. So much for hippa. Since I have found out that my instestins are twisted and kinked, and I have to have another surgery to fix it.

Gave me a lot of time. Did not feel rushed. Did an excellent job on me! He is great!

Dr. Denk has been my mom's surgeron for some years now he's a great doctor and really it shows his care and concerns for his patients he has always called back if we had questions are concerns about anything. He's the number one GI doctor .

Dr. Denk performed lap band surgery on me a few months ago as well as other tests (colonoscopy, etc.). I was very pleased with his professionalism, skills, bedside manner, ease of communicating with him, follow-up, office staff, etc. I'd recommend him highly to anyone!

This doctor messed me up. He is a complete hack.
