Dr Ferrera doesn’t explain anything about the surgery, has a terrible bedside manner and offers no reasons for pain after the surgery

Dr Ferrara was great - issue is scheduler Geneive. She was rude, short with questions acting as though I was a bother. I was never called to let me know when my surgery date was. I don’t often check my emails but luckily I did one day as otherwise I wouldn’t hv know my surgery was following day. Some how her name came up at surgery center where I found out it was me being overly sensitive. She has a reputation there for being “difficult” to communicate with for same reasons I encountered. Receptionist at front desk was fabulous & very helpful. Dr Ferrara great also.

Accompanying a family member with malignant melanoma on a limb, Dr. Ferrara thought if appropriate to quickly suggest "amputation" as an option - something we had not even considered. Turned out he was joking (!). But he made same joke at least two more times. Didn't ask relevant questions, and we had to supply (and correct) some apparent misinformation. We bailed and sought a different surgeon.

Best caring surgeon!

Dr Ferrara is the best! He's very thorough and knows what he is doing! He has great bedside manners!

Bedside manner is excellent- A Doctor who took full time to get to know me , know my concerns, educate me about the situation & explain to me all the options. He does not run a cattle clinic, packing patients in. His time, & concern with the patient seems sincerely valued. I would request to see Dr Ferrara again should I ever need his range of services

Dr. Ferrara explained exactly what would take place during surgery. He was very patient and answered questions in a way that I could understand.

Dr. Ferrara performed my emergency appendectomy a year ago. My recovery was quick and my scars are nearly non-existent (I scar easily too)! He was friendly and fully explained my procedure before and after the surgery.

Dr. Fererra is an amazing surgeon and wonderful man.
