Dr. Peter Rockwell Futrell, MD

I came to Dr. Futrell about a year ago to treat a hereditary condition which I was very concerned about. He has been very good at getting it under control and has relieved my anxiety about the future. Highly recommend him.

I am a nurse and I deal with doctors all the time… this is by far the worst interaction/appointment I have ever had. He came in to the room, did not introduce himself, sat in his chair, well laid back in his chair, crossed his arms, and said “what’s up?” As we started to describe our concerns, he interrupted us immediately, told us that particular problem was of no concern, and that we were not going to discuss it further. Totally blew off any concerns we had. Threw some sample medication at us and we were out the door. Never to return to him again. Do NOT recommend seeing this one!

He was courteous, fast, and dedicated.

Dr. Futrell showed no concern whatsoever. He displayed no willingness to take the time to listen to me nor address my issues. As a neurologist he did not even consider the possibility that my problem might have a neurological component. I was taken aback by his total lack of consideration.

I would NOT, under any circumstances recommend Dr. Futrell to anyone. I had a bad experience with him.

I was hospitalized for a possible stroke. Dr. Futrell gave me a brief examination in the hospital, came by my hospital room the next day for another visit and suggested a follow-up appointment soon after my release. My symptoms were mild, and I wasn't sure I'd suffered a stroke at all. During my visit to Dr. Futrell's office, he determined that I had probably not suffered a stroke, but rather had Bell's Palsy. I especially appreciate his direct attention to the problem, and his explanation in terms that I could easily understand.

Truly an exceptional doctor! Straight forward, does not sugar coat the facts. I would rather a doctor be straight forward with me than dance around what is really going on. Always on time and spends the needed time with me to make sure that everything is addressed and my questions are answered. If there are other options, he will tell me these as well. Perfect bedside manner. He cares and I am thankful to have been pointed in his direction. His expertise in the specialty of Neurology is spot on. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Two minutes is too many for him unless you want to see him come in, slouch in the chair and show his cool shoes with no socks. Money is all he cares about. Even if a patient is in pain caused by his poor office practices that don’t allow medicine to be delivered on time. He’s floating our money!

My mother saw him. He was flippant, mean spirited, and exhibited a lack of care. He also demonstrated a lack of basic knowledge regarding his specialty.

Over the course of a 51 year marriage, 4 children 10 grandchildren, never had a contact with a physician that was so bad. It goes beyond just his demeanor. He probably is an exceptional golfer because he does not have what it takes to be a good doctor. Keep looking. This office is a no in my opinion, based on what I experienced.
