Dr. Peter Elliott Goodkin, MD

I've been patient of Dr. Goodkin for many years. Seen many changes in staff, but one thing is never change is how wonderful overall experience is. This review is not about Dr. Goodkin - I want to give big kudos to Aestetician Leah. Very professional, young lady with huge knowledge of up-to-date skin care solutions. I'd recommend to visit her even if you don't have any skin problems.

I have been a satisfied patient of Dr.Goodkin's office for years, and was hesitant to see the new doctor that took over. What a pleasant surprise! Dr. Aanderud (spelling?) was amazing. He was so genuine and warm it put me right at ease. Skin cancer runs in my family, so I am a regular at the dermatologist's office. I am so glad he can be my doctor for years to come. I will be taking my kids to see him too.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Goodkin. I recently saw Dr. Aanderud, who is taking over the practice. I was impressed with his bedside manor. He found a suspicious spot and recommended a biopsy. He explained everything before he did the procedure. His suspicion was correct and I had the skin cancer treated recently. I am healing now but my scar looks good and I will follow up next month. I have also seen Nathan Smith, the PA a couple times. He is well trained and kind. He even brought the doctor in once to look at a rash. They agreed on the diagnosis, and the rash went away with the prescribed cream. I highly recommend this practice.

I will never go back to this doctor again. You have to pay for the visit,and then pay for the procedure. Rip off. I guess he is hurting for business.

Dr Goodkin has a physician;s assistant that actually sees you and treats you. This was my 3rd visit for Melanoma skin cancer. Each time they have to do a biopsy first. The biopsy creates a 1/3 of an inch sore on your face that takes 6 weeks to heal and the followup treatment creates a 1/2" sore that also takes 6 weeks to heal. I asked the physician's assistant, Sean Pierce, if he could just treat the area as if it were Melanoma this time so that I wouldn't have to be cut into twice. His answer was "no", because the insurance wouldn't pay for it, and it wouldn't be medically ethical to remove more skin. Each procedure takes EXACTLY the same amount of time (about 2 minutes), requires the same amount of anesthesia,and no stitches.Each time I pay my $30 deductible and my insurance pays them $230.On my return visit to have my face scraped (they call it surgery) after the biopsy, I commented to the nurse that I should have just paid the extra money out of my pocket so I wouldn't have… to heal twice. I then received a very stern uncaring lecture from the nurse. EXCUSE ME???I was more than willing to have a little extra skin scraped off (even if it wasn't Melanoma)just so I wouldn't have to take the chance of having it done twice. Now I'm having to deal with another open sore on my face for another 6 weeks so just this Dr. can make a profit.I will NOT be going back to this provider!!!I wish I had checked other people's reviews before I had gone there.

I was never actually examined. The doctor came in looked at my face and told me that I would need laser treatments. He did not examine any other part of me (I was concerned that some skin spots could be cancerous). There was no chance to ask about other skin problems. That'll be $135. I feel so ripped off.
