Doc is the best. I never feel rushed and he looks under every rock to make sure all is well. His referrals are the best as well

I swear, every time I saw the man a drug salesperson saw him first. What do you think? I finally figured out that some of the problems I was having were from the drugs he prescribed. It's great to finally feel good.

As many as stated in previous posts, wonderful,caring doctor. Though he has an obnoxious staff!!!!!!!!! Not a caring bone in their bodies. I went in for the "follow-up" for medication refills. As requested. Well the "new" girl screwed it up. She never sent it to my pharmacy (mail away) took me the 10 waiting days to figure it out. I am now waiting for my meds to come. I don't know what the remedy is for competent office staff. I don't agree that they get this way because the patients are always calling and putting demands on them. They knew this was what was going to happen when they took the job. When you decide to work in a high stress place you need to be able to laugh. The original staff which really sucked, are starting to look good. Not really --- they were the worst of the worst. With so many people looking for jobs - there has to be some kind, caring people out there. Just saying!

This doctor is not as good as I originally thought he was. He thinks he is funny but says things that I find to be inappropriate. I was recently on heart medication and he changed me to the generic without my knowledge. I had series side effects from the generic and when I tried to switch back to the real drug it was a procedure. Additionally, I find his staff to be rude at times.

Love the doctor, the staff needs LOTS of help. When calling in for refills, treated badly.

I have known Dr. Gottesfeld for more than ten years as a patient and colleague. I know him to be not only smart, but well versed in current medical information and standards. He is one of the most hard working and capable physicians I have met. I take umbrage by the inaccurate statements and slanderous comments of the patient below. As a physician myself, I can attest to the fact that, not only does the State of NY, but also insurance companies, require patients to be evaluated on a regular basis -- if your prescriptions have "run out" that means you have not planned your follow up appointments with the physician in an appropriate time frame. Your failing to plan ahead does not constitute an emergency on the part of the physician!! Very often patients, like the one below, believe that we physicians are "prescription ATM machines." I would ask that Vitals.com retract the previous slanderous comment as its writer clearly does not understand the standards of practice upheld by… excellent physicians like Dr. Gottesfeld.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gottesfeld the last 6 months and have seen him on multiple occasions. Both for routine follow ups and for immidiate care for sickness. I find the Dr. to be very thourough and pleasant. Unfortunately he hides behind one obnoxious older staffer and unexperienced young adults. I had called in a request for two medications that I have been taking on a long term basis. I was told that since I had not had a follow up appointment scheduled these prescriptions could not be filled as normal (3 month supply) . I was told to visit the office and some samples would be given to me until I came for a follow up visit. I showed up that evening to pick up my samples and was told that they were out of samples and I was given misinformation regarding office policy. The two medications I had requested were for anxiety and asthma. The follow up appointment that was so urgent would have had nothing to do with the taking of these medications. The office was basically bullying me… into coming in or I wouldnt get my prescriptions filled. The young girl behind the counter tried to say state law required a follow up visit before prescriptions can be refilled. That law is "ONLY" for controlled substances. As soon as I challenged her about this she changed her story and claimed she had told my wife on the phone that day that my prescriptions would be fullfilled for 30 days. This was an absolute lie. I am in no way a trouble maker nor have I ever posted a comment about a DR before. One of the medications I was attempting to get has very bad side affects if you stop taking it abruptly. The reason this all took place is because of greed. The Dr. collects money for all of the multiple follow up visits. I have no problem coming in for a follow up, I just believe dangling my medication over my head until I make an appointment is beyond bad business, it's UNETHICAL !!!!!

BEWARE THE $100 CANCEL FEE & UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF! Historic storm on Saturday. After explaining: no power for 3 days in 45 degree temps, 2 kids under 3 with no daycare & downed trees/wires making driving dangerous I was curtly told I would STILL be billed $100 for missing a routine physical on Monday. I should just "bring my kids". Even the doctor's own power & phone were out. No excuses. No discussion. And, as far as I'm concerned, no more future with this doctor. NO MATTER HOW WONDERFUL THE DOCTOR, THE STAFF MATTERS GREATLY! I was not shown empathy nor flexibility in this situation.

Dr. Gottesfeld walks on water as far as I am concerned. He is a wonderful, thorough physician who helped my mother until the end and now he is helping me. If I have an emergency he works me in. I can't say enough about him I have had no problems with his office staff whatsoever. They take my calls, they get back to me right away and I always get resolution to whatever problems I have. I would go to the mat for him.
