Dr. Peter Adam Holden, MD

I was about 6 months pregnant when I switched to his practice. He had so many good reviews so I trusted that. Since my first appointment I didn’t like his demeanor. His office is in a house which it seems to be normal in NY. He barely talked and was extremely awkward. However, during of my checkups he was going to do an ultrasound (his equipment is ridiculously old might as well pay so where else to get it done). My husband came with me as well as my daughter. When he finished the ultrasound and my husband left to the waiting room Holden told me “oh your daughter is so blonde, do people sometimes confuse you with her nanny?” I was speechless with his racist comment! I left and cried on the ride home. My husband said that when I was getting dressed, he came out and asked the same thing to my husband. Needless to say I never went back!

I had a consultation with this doctor since finding out I was pregnant. I felt uncomfortable from the moment I walked in, when the receptionist at the front desk asked for the co-pay, which I gave her a $50 (owed me $35 back), She gave me a hand written receipt stating I paid the balance of $15. I asked for the remaining change back and she said the doctor will give me the change when he comes into the exam room. I thought this was unconventional, but went along with it. Once in the room, he immediately handed me $15 dollars, rather than $35 which was owed. I told him he owed me more, and immediately handed over the remaining $20, as if he was holding in his hand and hoping I wouldn't notice. Extremely odd! I also came in with some test results for a second opinion (went to er, because I had some bleeding, which the er said everything was fine) and he proceeded to give me news that could be ok or bad, but blood tests needed to be done based on the results. He insisted on doing… blood work which I said no to and I would think about. He seemed like he was looking for business and also did not present as a friendly or personable doctor. I never went back as these were red flags. He seemed knowledgable but I felt extremely uncomfortable. Another doctor after him, also said something very different and put my mind at ease, confirming my suspicions that he was out trying to scare me into doing tests that were not necessary.

After several years at a large practice, I decided I wanted a dr that was responsive and calming. I called to make an appt and got in super quick. He is very realist and has a calming personality. I ended up having my baby with him and he always returned my calls and got back to me with all test results (even if he said he wouldn’t if it’s nothing). He stayed with me for the whole pushing process of my birth (which I was told by the nurse that most doctors don’t). His office is not high tech but I prefer a dr I can trust and have a good relationship with.

Dr. Holden is an amazing doctor, I highly recommend him.

Dr. Holden is a kind and caring Doctor no matter how busy he is. He delivered both my boys and would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Even after my health insurance was no longer covered under him I am more than willing to pay out of pocket for his care. Thank you, Dr. Holden

I am very pleased with Dr. Holden and his office staff. If I call his office for anything they respond to my request right away and are always very good at sched appts. I have never been told that he does not have time or no appts available. Also, he does take his time and puts his patients first. Very happy with him as my new doctor and I was refer him to anyone :)

Dr holden is the best doctor I have come across by far. Laura in his office is the easiest person to speak with and they make you feel at home.

Dr. Holden is truly one of the very few doctors today that actually care and listen to you. He is a great doctor!!!
