Dr. Leavitt’s negative reviews are obtuse!!! He is by far the best doctor I have EVER had a rapport with. Matter of fact, he moved out of state and I am flying hundreds of miles, just to visit him after a serious medical issue that has been more than frightening but the other doctors at St. Charles have been less than “helpful”. Peter Leavitt is a top notch doctor and a huge loss to our community in Bend.

We moved from the valley to Central Oregon so I had to leave a wonderful doctor. I have always had a close relationship with my doctors. But, Peter Leavitt is the most uncaring rude doctor I have ever dealt with! If my husband was with me he acted like he was the nicest person ever. When he wasn’t with me he was condescending, rude, and downright mean!! He diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease. A thyroid disorder. I was gaining weight for no apparent reason. So when I was diagnosed we found the reason. He still told me to “put down the cookie!”. I was in such shock I couldn’t even defend myself. I have never been one to eat junkfood but of course he assumed I was lying! I have major depressive disorder and he made me worse! Every time I had to go see him I would have extreme anxiety. I was also born with a problem with my back that required surgery at 15 years old. It has caused severe back pain my whole life. He accused me of lying about having surgery! I have scars on my back to… prove it but that wasn’t good enough I guess! I had to get my transcripts from Shriners Hospital to prove it to him. He still didn’t believe my back pain was from my congenital disorder. He told me it was because I was depressed. I am depressed because I have pain and have been in pain since I was a little kid. I could go on and on!! Do not go to him!! He will make you feel worse than you already do!! I am so thankful to have found an amazing doctor and an amazing pain doctor!!

If you are on certain medications this doctor will profile you and make your visit very awkward to the point of not even discussing the real issue of being there. Very defensive and opinionated. Not Happy. Tattooed people on anything more than Tylenol STAY AWAY. He will look down on you, like you are a seeker, then talk crap about the doctor that gave them to you. I'm serious. I waited a month to find out first hand. Save yourself the troubles. Most uncomfortable visit ever.....

My husband and I are the patients of Dr. Peter Leavitt in Bend, Oregon. From the first visit on, we felt comfortable and at ease with him. He is a caring, concerned doctor who makes you feel that he has all the time in the world for you. There never is a sense of "hurrying" us in and out. His appointment time is also the best kept schedule we have ever experienced. We consider him our friend as well as our physician. We think he is the best!!

Awesome Doctor, takes time to listen to patient needs and concerns and is prepared for visit with knowledge and accurate information from previous visits. Explains what needs to be done and why. Great dianostics skills . Simply the best
