Dr. Peter Michalos, MD

I went to the bridgehampton urgent care for eye pain- they told me it was conjunctivitis, I followed up with my primary in the city who felt it was uveitis from too much sun (I spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer) he recommended an ophthalmologist to follow up, but I couldn't get an appointment with a covered doctor for over a month so I followed up with an optometrist in the city who agreed with the diagnosis. A couple of weeks later I had some blurry vision one Saturday evening, that got much worse on Sunday morning, I was terrified, and desperately tried to call around, and Dr. Michalos was the only one who was able to see me. He took his time to listen to my story, and ultimately said that I might have LYMES DISEASE!!! I was skeptical, but shocked that he was right. It had already progressed- but I am glad I am now able to be treated, also my eye symptoms have nearly completely resolved. It scares me to think what could have happened had I not found him.

I had been experiencing blurry vision. In one appointment he not only realized I had been given the wrong prescription by another doctor in Florida, but found out that the angles in my eye had closed up and were causing a rare but serious form of glaucoma that could lead to blindness which thankfully was treatable.

I had severe eye pain and redness, and I went to the hospital around the corner, but a couple of days later it was still painful and looking worse. I called and was able to see him that same day. He found a piece of towel under my eyelid, and removed it for me. I am better now. Great experience.

Dr. Michalos is The Very Best. Fifteen years ago, when I first visited him, he checked my eyes and asked if I had been in an accident -- he saw evidence of trauma in my right eye. He was right-on. I hadn't mentioned the eye problem to him because my previous ophthalmologist, during two separate annual visits, insisted that there was nothing wrong with my eye when I told him I thought I had suffered vision loss in an auto accident. Dr. Michalos is a remarkable, caring doctor.

Love him. I had to have an emergency appointment to follow up an ER visit for poking myself in the eye doing pruning. Only had a short wait after squeezing me in with no appointment that day. The best...
