Dr. Peter Novak, MD

I have struggled with a very complex medical history, including POTS syndrome on top of a couple other severe chronic conditions. I waited 11 months for my autonomic testing appointment with Dr. Novak and I was incredibly anxious, and not sure what to expect after reading some of the other reviews. I am happy and relieved to say that I was incredibly pleased with the care both he, and his testing staff gave me during my appointment. He explained everything he was doing throughout the process, made sure I didn’t have any other questions, and also clarified what to expect next and gave me a timeframe. I understand that many people get upset with his availability and scheduling, however that is just a reflection of what a wonderful, and incredibly thorough Doctor he is. If you are able to get in with him, I highly recommend it, the long wait will be well worth it.

Referred after Autonomic testing at the Faulkner, ordered by another Dr, came back positive. Cancelled my New Patient appt because of his actions before our appt. No empathy, didn't respond to the 2 questions I had before our appt or acknowledge anything else. He & his office, Maria, LIED to me a few times. He Downgraded my "New Patient" appt to shorter appt at a building where they don't do Autonomic apps & after I emailed that I don't do Psych stuff he immediately downgraded to a Virtual appt without even asking if a Virtual appt was OK or not. I fact checked what he & Maria said, that he changed to Virtual because the Hale building doesn't do in person appts. So I called 2 Brigham & Women's numbers, one being the Hale building, Neurosciences Neurology dept, where my appt would be, and both phone numbers said Dr. Novak DOES in person appts there. So he and his office, Maria, LIED! Supposedly told my Allergist he DIDN'T think test results were from a psychological problem but his… actions speak louder than words so I cancelled! Better to let symptoms progress till something happens because doctors can't be trusted!

I've posted here before, but Vitals seem to have removed real allegations against Novak. The stroke comment below is true. Mine's was also removed. Don't trust the high ratings. I've been given IVIG that had led to aseptic meningitis with poorly treated post-care during my hospitalization. Largely, in part due to Novak's false slander (like the patient below). Brushed off as psychological and other doctors took his word, over my own and my caretakers who knew me. I have evidence of a brain injury from the swelling. I am in pain daily, and can never return to normal function. Novak has ceased communication with my other doctors after more evidence emerged and wrote me off as psychological in my charts. Leading to other doctors gaslightling me and my loved ones. I'm not the only incident. Other reviews of similar situations have been removed. I will also be filing a complaint to the state about Dr. Novak. This is malpractice and unethical. If you happen to have successful treatment… with this doctor he takes the credit. If you have had been harmed like myself and others, he will write you off, and make it harder for you to receive care. You've been warned.

This doctor abandoned me as a patient after his prescription error caused me to have a stroke. He then went on to defame and slander me. Fortunately he is currently under investigation by multiple government agencies and the Board is Registration I’m Medicine. Please stay away he, colleagues and staff look out for what’s best for them financially and not what’s in the best interest of patients health, he could not be a more corrupt sleaze. I have posted here before and it appears Vitals has removed my truth. Be very aware.

Dr. Novak is a brilliant Neurologist and is very caring and kind. I am a complex case and he has been very helpful in getting me answers and treatment for my conditions. Well respected by patients and Collegues . Highly recommend this Doctor

I met Dr. Novak when he was practicing in Worcester and am so grateful to him for his knowledge and expertise. He was able to diagnose my complex condition and that in turn helped other Providers to take my symptoms more seriously moving forward after that. To Dr. Novak I was a person not a number and that meant so much. I look forward to seeing him at his new location. Very compassionate and knowledgeable MD and one who truly cares about each one of his patients. A rare thing to find these days.

Dr. Novack diagnosed my Baro Reflex after I searched for 3 years. I didn't like my diagnosis but at least I had a name and understanding of a very real RARE disease. Also learned how to manage it even though there is no cure.
