Dr. Peter Stewart Sherrod, MD

It shows vitals.com that Dr. Sherrod accepts new patients, when I called to make an appointment, I was told he does not accept new patients and was referred to his partner. This is wrong information about the doctor on vitals.com. Wasted my time ....

Dr.Sherrod is one awesome Doctor!!! I wish we were still able to use him- miss him and his wonderful staff terribly!! He took care of both my children from 1980 - 2002. NOT ONCE did we ever encounter a problem with Dr Sherrod or his office. Our eldest, when born weighed 4.4 1/2 oz and was full term but as we learned was also going to be a Special Needs Child. It was Dr Sherrod who helped us connect with the Children's Birth Defect Clinic in Dallas - that beautiful little boy is now 33 years old and a very healthily young man who has a job AND drives!!! When our youngest son was born again, Dr Sherrod was there! Our son was born almost 3 months early- this time our baby had excellent weight (6.5 oz) but his little lungs were just not ready!!! He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Dallas that specialized in neonatal care, where he spent over a week under a halo. Dr Sherrod took time from his days to VISIT and check on my little son and my husband as I was still the hospital. … My husband & I learned our new baby would required lung surgery . So two days after he was released from NICU, I had back in the hospital for lung surgery. I had seen Dr Sherrod & his wife in the lobby of hospital - they were there for a convention.... we talked, I gave him an update on my Little One and YES - he and his wife STOPPED BY AFTER their convention to check on HIS little patient!!! By the way... My Little One - he is now a Recruiter with the US ARMY.... Proud Mom ? You Betcha - Of BOTH My Handsome Boys - they have both overcome a great deal in the lives!! So YES... even though it has been many, many MANY years since our family has seen Dr Sherrod - our family will always be grateful and so very thankful for this amazing and very dedicated man.

Dr.Sherrod is amazing at his job!! He takes time to get to know each and every patient. He got an amazing education, and has 40 years of experience. He has too many awards to count, including Patients Choice Award and Best Doctors award. The Best Doctors award is an award where lots of doctors vote on a doctor( other than themselves) to receive the award. So even other doctors love Dr.Sherrod!!!!! I recommend him and he will not disappoint!!!!!

We being his patient last 10 years. He is an excelent pediatrician.

While we can find at least 100 pediatricians closer to where we live, I still drive the distance to see him, and he is worth every bit. His diagnostics skill is almost as good as Dr. House (he is a fictional character after all), and his nurses and staff are so caring and friendly to work with.

Dr. Sherrod is an outstanding and compassionate pediatrician. He has a very calm and reassuring personality and a very obvious love for children. He is highly intelligent but if he is not sure of a situation he will either research it or refer your child to a specialist. We think he is the best pediatrician in Plano, Texas.
