Dr. Peter Paul Stamas, MD

I have been going to Dr. Stamas for over 20 years. He provides care typically only available for those able to afford concierge medicine at the cost of an ordinary internist. Not many doctors are willing to visit their patients in the hospital and take calls at all times, even in the middle of the night. But for Dr. Stamas, this care is customary and given freely. I admire Dr. Stamas greatly and have sincere respect for him.

I don't know the physician, but I was preparing one of his patients for surgery and realized they had neglected to send over the patients lab work. Calling the office and requesting them to send over the information was the most tedious, time-consuming task. Staff completely incompetent and careless. 45 minutes and 2 phone calls later still waiting by the fax machine... Now the number has been busy for the last 10 minutes, way to go!!

Doctor Stamas defines himself as an old school doctor, and he is true to his word. He is cautious, meticulous, and analytical, and will not rush to over-medicate to solve a problem, instead searching for the underlying issue. Staff are friendly and helpful and location is convenient.

After seeing him for 3 yeas and just less than 2 months ago ha a complete physical he declined refill on a specific rug. (not a street drug. He said I had to come in for an evaluation. Remember complete physical done 6 weeks ago. I have been telling him of my problem since I walked into his office. All blood work labs turned out fine even the ECG. Now what does he have to evaluate. Looking for a new doctor. an yes he is very condescending to say the least

I would highly recommend against using Peter Stamas as a physician. I've seen many doctors in the past, and I've never had a worse physician. Both his dietary and medical advice are stuck in 1988.

Mean-spirited “doctor” with a failing practice.

Very thorough in his work. Smart and focused man who spends countless hours focused on a patient. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic internist!

Poor bedside manner. You would think a doctor's job is to communicate with you about your health and treatments. He was terrible in every way imaginable. So arrogant and condescending. Would not recommend him. There are so many better doctors out there.

I chose Dr. Stamas because he is in my provider network and the location is great. My health is generally pretty good, so I do not need someone with top notch skills. I give him a B- on the skills. If you are looking for bedside manner, keep looking. Arrogant and condescending were used to describe him in other reviews; absolutely spot on. Someone said "dry" sense of humor... that is generous. I find him to be sarcastic and acerbic. He is yanking your chain most of the time, which I believe is the 'grown-up' term for bullying. Why he needs to be snobbish with his patients is beyond me...maybe he is just a little Napoleon at heart.
