Dr. Peter C Tierney, MD

Dr. Tierney doesn't follow the safe COVID-19 policies that are recommended by Penn Medicine. He doesn't follow the American Cancer Society guidelines for breast cancer screenings. He doesn't pay attention to why you are visiting him and does whatever he pleases to you without even asking. Find another doctor that will keep up with the latest research to keep you safe and healthy.

I have had Tierney for at least 15-20 years. He would spend most of his time with me, showing (talking about) how he is the expert in everything: politics, business, investments and general knowledge. I put up with this...and probably should not have. He spent very little time (of the overall appointment) actually discussing my health. I recently asked him about medications prescribed by a (specialist) doctor (who he sent me to) that doubled down on the same symptom. He essentially refused to discuss that this was wrong, right or otherwise. I feel that the correct thing was for him to CALL his doctor he referred me to and they discuss a clear protocol. he obviously doesnt do that..... Also, his staff overbooks his appointments. I was told I had an 8:45 appointment. but when i arrived i was told it was an "8:45 for 9:00 appointment" (no other doc does that). i came early, and then was not actually seen by the doctor until 9:20 (partially because he did not arrive until after 9:10).… I think he spent less than ten minutes with me. He will probably know me by this description. and I would be happy to discuss with him further. I came away today very disappointed. As i have moved further away from his office, I had decided to see if it made sense to pursue another GP closer to my new home. I let him know this at the end of the appointment. You would think that after 15-20 years with him, he would say something like, "oh it was nice serving you for all this time...hate to see you change". NOPE....not a word, not a grunt...i believe it was the first time he had nothing to say.

Dr. Tierney is pretty thorough. However he talks over you, and doesn't always let you complete your sentence, or your thought. I feel rushed to get my point accross when I'm in his office. I don't always feel as though he is listening to me, because he's so intent on getting info into his laptop device. It could also be because he has other patients waiting...

Excellent doctor! Saved my life!

Wonderful experience (even for a visit to the Dr.'s office). A gentleman. Very personable and professional. We had a interesting conversation about a variety of topics. Great all around.

Very arrogant and make fun about me laughing....not professional at all.

Provides excellent service at all levels. Was very gentle and kind to my mother after a serious fall. Removed her stitches with care.

Have had him for over 5 years, only doctor i go to (if insurance permits!).... easy going, professional, good advise (both medical and life) and good sense of humor. i trust him!

Dr. Tierney has treated me and my children since the mid 1990's. Dr. Tierney is very knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and he treats you with respect. He truly does care about you! Dr. Tierney has seen my son and I through some difficult times and he truly made a difference in the healing process.(still does) Thank you for being an outstanding physician. I must also say the nurses are fantastic, always in a good mood and very professional. The receptionists are very accommodating especially with apts and are very courteous. Thank you PFP for providing top quality health care!

if you appear to be in good health, he tends to jump to conclusions which are usually correct, but he doesn't necessarily take the time to rule out other potential risks which sometimes makes me uncomfortable.
