Dr. Philip Michael Brown

I am so grateful to have become a patient of Dr. Brown's, I have found him to be so kind and truly very compassionate. I was really lost, had never been to pain management and was very scared and nervous to be at this point with my illness. I felt that Dr. Brown was extremely patient and educated me on pain, the multiple modalities of treatment, quelled my fears and misconceptions of pain management and was also so kind to help me over a weekend. I called in on a Saturday and it took, literally 3-5 minutes for a returned phone call and Dr. Brown personally helped me right then to avert any more loss of time due to pain. I have been treated with a tremendous amount of kindness and respect and I am no longer afraid, I know he and his staff are there to help me through a very difficult illness and he is very focussed on patient safety and education which is very important and should be very important to anyone needing this level and type of care because it is serious business. I have… also found his physician's assistant to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Brown for those who seek true assistance with pain and are willing to look at all modalities, not just medication.

Doctor Phillip Brown is one of the most polite, understanding, and knowledgeable doctors I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He does not push pain medicine or injections, but will do either if they are necessary. Instead, he focuses on the root of the pain and treats from there. Personally, I was treated with medication and an injection, while at the same time, going to physical therapy, stress therapy, and biofeedback. Once I learned how to better control the pain, he helped me get off the pain medication after the pain subsided. Now, with Dr. Brown's help, I am no longer in constant agony, and only receive injections and/or pain meds on the rare occasions that I have flare ups. The office staff are friendly and responsive as well.

Staff is too large and not organized. No one, including Brown, returns phone calls (they only did so when making my appointment). I feel like I was given the run around by staff. Brown proposed treatment options, but did not follow up!

Dr. Brown is extremely knowledgeable and concerned with his patients. What is so great is unlike many pain management specialists who are either comfortable with injections and blocks or medical management, but not both (causing you to have to see 2 MDs), Dr. Brown can do it all and very well. He is relentless is trying to find what will make his patients the most comfortable but at the same time develops a plan of treatment that allows the patient to continue to be a productive member of society if at all possible. He knows so many options for pain management and that is extremely important because patients suffering from chronic will not continue to respond well to the same plan of treatment. The body will become accustomed and a change must be made. Dr. Brown is empathetic and treats his patients with so much respect, and when you really need him, he is there for you. He has actually surprised me by calling me on a Friday evening to discuss new concerns and symptoms I was… manifesting. I had called his office earlier that day but really didn't expect to hear from him until Monday. He really does care. That doesn't mean he is going to give the drug seeker anything he/she wants, but I have heard him treat that poor person with respect and so much patience. His staff is the same way. I would recommend Dr. Brown to anyone suffering from chronic pain!
