Dr. Philip J Corrao JR., MD

I've been seeing Dr Corrao for many years. He his an outstanding doctor and is always attentive. He is through and takes whatever time is required to answer all my questions. I'm very confident in his skills and would recommend him anyone needing a family doctor. I have full trust in his abilities and medical knowledge.

I cannot remember when any physician, including a family practitioner, personally called me to discuss a coughing problem which I didn't mention during my annual checkup. Can you? Well, now you know a doctor who does.

dr. Correa has been our dr. For 20 years now. He has always been spot on in his medical treatments with us. My husband and I trust him 100 percent. We have seen staff members come and go over the years, but the staff that we do know have been like family to us.

Horrible staff. If you ask for them to work with your schedule they say they will, and then won't. If you tell them how you feel or give negative feedback, they will send you certified mail dismissing you from practice, using whatever she could find (no one ever fights it anyway ). Front desk lady called me names and is very inappropriate when she's upset. She is sweet as pie when there arent any issues. Unfortunately, there are often issues at a doctors office. I liked the ARNP. Never met the doctor, which conveniently is the one who dismissed me from his practice using the information he got from the front desk lady.

Dr Corrao slowly goes through his charts during every appointment. I thought that he was being careful and methodical at first, but in the long run, I think he just has little knowledge about providing medical assistance and even less about what is going on in his office. I would overhear employees in the reception area talking about how the nurse practitioners see many more patients than the doctor. Then I was pushed to seeing the nurse practitioners more often. After several different bungling mishaps with prescriptions and rude/argumentative responses; I refuse to see this doctor and hope that he loses his license soon.

On my first visit, Dr Corrao was very personable and appeared genuinely concerned about my health. When I went for my annual check up the following year, he was very impersonal and reluctant to answer questions. I mentioned that i had had a negative experience with a dermatologist (I was hoping he might address my medical concern/rash). When he asked who the dermatologist was, his demeanor changed. He told me she was a friend and that I was wrong about my experience. I thought "ok, one good experience/one bad experience" and decided to give him anther change. The next few appointments, the negative responses continued. Very rushed, not willing to listen fully to your responses, rather curt. I would NOT recommend.

Dr. Corrao has a great personality and very informative.

Having had Doctor Corrao as my primary doctor for around 20 years and then moving, I can honestly say that he is the best and also his staff that has grown over the years. He cares, he listens, you don't feel rushed and you just feel comfortable with him. Trying to find another Dr Corrao since I moved is like a needle in a haystack. Can't be done. Thank you all for everything over the years. I miss everything about your office and I wish I could have taken you with me when I had to move. Thanks again:)

I will not go into all the details but please know that I do not usually post reviews unless I feel very strongly about something. I would highly discourage you from choosing Dr Corrao's office. The office staff was not bad, the environment was fine. The Dr. was ALWAYS running late. I have usually had to wait for up to an hour past my appointment time to see the Dr and he is always in & out...always felt rushed & like I couldn't ask questions. It is so hard to find a good Dr. And In the end, after we had already chosen to go to a new Dr, they had called us regarding a $37 outstanding balance that they were turning over to COLLECTIONS!! A bill that we had never received prior. And the billing office tells me they send out 5 statements before turning over to collections...I was so frustrated! Anyways, to sum up...if you are looking for a new Dr. in Tampa, I would continue your search!

Dr Corrao, was not familiar with epilepsy and he did told me that I cannot help you.
