Wouldn't trust him. Doesn't care about you only money. Was a good family friend and I lost both of my hips due to his "care." Find a better doctor without a Girard last name. Trying to get my time I lost with my children back.

Dr. Gerard is an old fart who could care less about his patients and is in it to just collect the money from people’s insurances for his retirement. After I waited for my appointment for 2 months, he saw me for 2 minutes, said he would give me some general prescription (without scheduling any tests or giving me a chance to tell him about my complaints), and got me out of the door so fast - he even forgot to give me that stupid prescription. Please do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

My 16 year old daughter has been a patient of Dr. Girard for 3 years when she was first diagnosed with partial complex epilepsy. While he doesn't have a warm and fuzzy bedside manner, the first thing he always asks her is how she is feeling. He reads over her chart, reviews all of our previous conversations and outcomes and asks how things are going. We have struggled finding a medication that works for her and doesn't make her feel depressed, but through every step he has been receptive to our concerns. Recently the increased dosage of tegratol made zero difference in her seizure activity (3-5 per day). He at first suggested an increase again, but when I said it makes her feel terrible, unmotivated, and disconnected from the world, he agreed we need to try something else. I then asked him what he knew about CBD oil. He was very honest and said he didn't know much about it all. His exact words were, "I'm old and there are nearly 30 drugs for seizures, it's just about finding the right… one and I am not about to go into a marijuana store myself!" I started laughing. He then said, "But I am opened minded. What do you know." I explained that we started her on the oil after trying a few brands and seemed to have found one that is working. Here seizures are way down and when she does have one, she recovers really fast. She also feels way less stressed and anxious, which as many of you know are triggers for seizures. He liked what he heard, asked a few more questions and said, "Well heck, if it's working that's all we want! Bring me the bottle at your next appt. let's do an MRI and another EEG and go from there." He told my daughter to journal everyday about how she was feeling, shook our hands and we were out the door. Yes, we wait from time to time for our appt, but that happens at every medical office. Yes, he is a straight shooter and isn't interested in making small talk. I like that because we then stay focused on the task at hand. I also really appreciate that he was open to something new and supported our decision to help our daughter in an unconventional way. People need to stop looking at him like he is supposed to be some miracle worker or a therapist and look at him like a partner in solving a mystery. We are happy with our experience over the years and won't change things.

Did a nerve test in legs he didn't even use any alcohol before poking me nonstop on legs.I assumed they would at least sanitize area and he seemed to be doing it with an attitude.shocked me with highest settings on legs. I've done test on arms before with another dr and the experience was huge.this dr doesn't seem to care.almost felt as if he had a racist attitude and enjoyed torturing you.

My husband is the one treating with dr girard. We like that he has the time to explane everything and he sits and listen to every concern you have.

I have been seeing Dr. Girard for about 10 years and I can't thank him enough. He has been treating me for migraine headaches which at the time were so debilitating. I'm happy to say, today my migraines are minimal and tolerable. Thank you Dr..Girard and your great staff.!

This doctor is like an angel for our family. He has been able to control my son's seizure disorder and really make him have a better happier life.

My experience with this Doctor has been horrible. He told my child, verbatim, with a cold, indifferent tone, that "he was born with a defective, miss-wired, brain". My son has developed some minor seizures, but he is a perfectly normal happy child. Now we have to deal with my son physiological condition and also, thank to this doctor, with the psychological trauma caused to my child by hearing such an atrocity from an authority figure. Even if this is true, which doesn't matter because it doesn't cure the condition, nothing positive or helpful, nor for the patient or family members, could result from hearing something like this. My child is now not only terrified, he also feel HELPLESS, thanks to this JERK. Please do not go to this doctor if you want to get help and also feel that there is hope to live a normal happy life with your condition. And please, look for a pediatric neurologist if you are seeking help for a child. I have been seeing Dr. Girard for epilepsy for over a year. When I first saw him he was very thorough and ordered an MRI right away. He is always pleasant and takes the time to answer any questions I have. I have never felt rushed in my appointments and I feel I am getting excellent treatment.

I read reviews after my appointment but had already heard Dr Girard was not very pleasant but came highly recommended as one of the best diagnosticians. I was fully prepared to come away from the appointment feeling badly about how I was treated. Boy, was I off the mark. The staff was pleasant from start to finish. Dr Girard was very professional and thorough and i never felt rushed. He gave me a diagnosis and then had his staff make appts for an MRI and nerve assessment for the following week. He smiled often and came across as very pleasant and extremely professional. He smiled often and I left with a diagnosis, appts, and feeling good about Dr. Girard and staff. I would highly recommend this dr to anyone.
