Instead Dr. Orisek gave me practical and non-invasive strategies to try. In less than a week I am so much better. Dr. Orisek is a gift to Northern California.

Dr. Orisek performed a minimally invasive lumbar fusion on me a couple months ago. I suffered from a badly ruptured disc and my spine had slipped forward causing bad pain in both legs and my hips. Everything went well and I’m recovering nicely. He uses minimally invasive techniques that most spine doctors won’t do because it takes so much skill to perform. I appreciated Dr. Orisek’s casual style and his willingness to answer my many questions. Dr. Orisek was highly recommended by other doctors and nurses I know. You may wait awhile to see him, but know that he will take the time you need when you meet with him.

I was initially taken aback by Dr. Orisek because he initially came across as quite young and therefor (I thought) possibly inexperienced; but I could not have been more mistaken. He definitely look very young for his age; but I've really come to believe that Dr. Orisek's relative youth has provided him with an education most in line with current surgical disk replacement technology. Dr. Orisek took his time to carefully evaluate me along with answering all of my questions. Anyone complaining about waiting too long for their appointments with Dr. Orisek are just selfish human beings. Keep in mind that this doctor is doing a good job and I'm personally glad that he puts his patients diagnosis and treatment before his (or their) schedule. Any doctor that's able to stay on schedule is depriving their patients of something to be able to do that; and I'd sure hate to have my "surgeon" doing that!!!

I have had a cervical disc replacement and a lumbar fusion and I would not want any other doctor doing the procedures! He saw me at my worst, showed and explained the various films and what steps were necessary to make me better. He is casual, warm and welcoming. So, you have to wait a bit but he is so worth it. I am forever grateful to this fantastic doctor.

I was most displeased with my visit to Dr. Orisek. He is definitely in need of better bedside manners. He was terrible! His personality and attire were dull and non-professional in nature. We sat in the lobby for 1 hour 45 minutes before we were ushered into a screening room where we sat 20 more minutes before he entered. He finally entered the room and began asking questions, then he abruptly left for some reason, and did not close the door behind him when he returned. Our conversation was open to those who waled by the room. Terrible! He barely listened to me explain my symptoms, and surprisingly, he did not take any time to examine me. He made me feel as if I was an intrusion to his busy day. He never smiled, and he made me feel like an unwelcomed patient. Perhaps he does not relate to people of color. Nonetheless, I left the office feeling horrible. I will never return to him. Moreover, if I did return to his office, it is his practice to have his Physician Assistant, who was not… in the room during the initial consultation, to meet with the patient. Why would a doctor refer a patient to his PA without the PA being in the room during the initial consultation? I don't want to meet with a PA after telling everything about me to Orisek. Orisek is the worse doctor I've ever encountered anywhere! Minimally, I hope he improves his beside manners. Does he really care about his patients. He has a long way to go to become personable and knowledgeable professional and . And encourage Orisek to wear clothes becoming of a doctor, not that of a hippie! I wasted my time visiting this doctor. Don't let the same thing happened to you. Find someone else.

What I like about Dr. Orisek is he is direct and doesn't sugar coat anything. You're not left to read between the lines with him. Dr. Orisek is caring, and although at first I thought he wasn't 'soft enough', I've come to appreciate him so much. He DOES care. He just tends to stick to the facts and 'keep it real.'I had a neck surgery in which I thought the scar would look ugly. I had seen another woman who had the surgery from a different Dr, and the scar didn't look so well. My scar looks AMAZING. My neck and shoulders and arms feel 'free.'I was told by another Dr. "Dr. Orisek is Mr. Wonderful." I absolutely agree. Fantastic Dr. His staff at first didn't seem real friendly, but perhaps it takes building a bit of a rapport with them. Now I love the staff and they go above and beyond to get things done. (Even if it means meeting Dr. Orisek on the weekend to get urgent paperwork signed.)I would absolutely recommend Dr. Orisek in a heartbeat. I'm blessed to have him as my Dr.

Was referred by my pain management Dr. H. Phil the PA was great office staff mostly nice. Had fusion done. Prior to surgery I was on kadian & morphineI got dilaudid drip post surgery but when nurses needed to move IV they couldn't get a vein. I decided to go home on oral meds since I could be home w/ hubby. The night prior to release Dr. Orisek came in said I was going home with vicodin. I couldn't believe with all my pain and coming off dilaudid he'd give me vicidin. He said "you're overmedicated". Went home 8 hours later was in ER. Pain dr put me back on morphine. FYI: surgery failed seeing new dr for si joint fusion. Pain not coming from my back. I didn't need fusion.

waited for over 90 mins. It took over a month to get a consultation visit. However during appt. Dr Orisek provide good info, spent a lot of time discussing history and symptoms and analyzing my MRIs and x-rays. Weighed benefits and risks of possible treatment options and actually told me that the disc replacement operation had more risk than benefit in my situation. So baised on that I believe he is straight forward and honest.
