Dr. Philip Andrew Rich, MD

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the receptionist on duty on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 3:24 PM. I was scheduled for an over-the-phone appointment with Dr. Rich. Instead of facilitating the appointment, the receptionist was highly antagonizing and rude. Her hostile treatment distressed me to the point of triggering a severe mental health episode, forcing me to leave my workplace early. Furthermore, her refusal to cooperate caused our call to exceed the allowed check-in window, entirely preventing me from speaking with Dr. Rich. As a mental health facility, your staff should be trained in trauma-informed care and basic empathy. Instead, this interaction caused me severe emotional distress, financial loss from missed work, and completely blocked my access to necessary medical care. I am now forced to travel to the office in person to resolve this issue. I expect this matter to be investigated immediately.

When you have a psychiatrist for a very long time and they move away it is always an adjustment. It is even more of an adjustment when the new one you get does not even comprehend what you are saying. Not only that he never gives eye contact, he does not pay attention that your appointment is a longer then usual because it is something serious. Not to mention that you are generally never seen on time. Some people go to see him on there lunch because that is there only time they can go. When he gets the faxes over from the pharmacist he does not even read them he just signs them. When you have a med increase how does the pharmacy know? When he increased the med he failed to let the pharmacist know, and failed to let the patient know. How comforting is it to know that you have to go to psychiatrist and discuss very personal matters, and he cannot even get your meds correct for you to get help. People make further appointments to make sure there treatments are being progressed and working… well. How does he know if your dosage is working out great for you? What if I was in a mental hospital for a day and he was not notified and they changed my meds? Horrible doctor!!!! His personality is so much like Eore!!!! Nothing to it!!!

Dr. Rich brought me back an hour after my appointment. He spent 15 minutes with me (if that) and never looked up from his paper. I told him my medical history, and diagnosis. He then proceeded to ask me all the questions, I had just answered. I told him I felt my medicines were working fine, and my issues were more situational. He, however, felt the need to prescribe two new medicines. Definitely a pill pusher, with poor bedside manner. I think people should stay far away from him.

Understanding and great listener

I've been a patient of Dr. Rich's for almost 6 years now and will stay with my Doctor! His calm demeanor, accurate diagnosis's and complete understanding of all available medications makes him one of my all time favorite Doctors. I am hard to find stable medications for as side effects are my norm. We have fine tuned my meds and I am on my way to living the life I was meant to lead. Thank you!

Dr. Rich is kind and listens! He doesn't try to push drugs on you and he is always on time. I can get in pretty quickly if I have an emergency and he always has medication clinics on wed. afternoons if you do takes meds and have questions or need an adjustment. The office is an old Victorian house and is really comfortable/homey--it's furnished with antiques.
