Philip Wai, MD

Dr. Wai is a graduate of Princeton University and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Yale University and was recruited to the renowned Transplant Surgery Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.
He is a recipient of the Faculty Research Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons and the Career Development Award in Liver Transplantation from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases with a research focus on liver cancer and the tumor microenvironment.
Dr. Wai has been a leader at AdventHealth and cares for patients undergoing Liver, Kidney, and Pancreas transplant, and also patients with Hepatobiliary disease requiring surgery. He performs single-incision laparoscopic living kidney donation, is the Surgical Program Director for Pancreas Transplantation and performed the first Heart after Liver Transplant (HALT) at Adventhealth.
