Dr. Philippe Chemaly, DO

most genuinely caring & sincere doctor I’ve ever encountered. Not only does Dr Chemaly have the best bedside manners, his clinical expertise is topnotch.

I was in a motor vehicle accident in 1989 and have many issues with my back, legs, ankle. foot and neck. Dr. Chemaly USED to seem like he cared more than any other doctor I went to UNTIL HE sent me for an epidural and I got sedated for the procedure. Since they used a Benzo to put me under sedation of course it would be in my system for a few days. 2 days later I had A follow-up appointment with De. Chemaly and got a urine test on that visit. A month later I went to my next follow up visit and I remember the Dr. trying to ease my anxiety because he said I have to have back surgery otherwise the issues I'm having could become permanent and he said that he would help me find a good surgeon. Next thing I know the nurse was stamping her finger down on my paperwork which showed I had a huge amount of Benzos in my system! He said, "I`m not doing this anymore!" I didn't even know what was going on. he said he`s no longer going to prescribe my medications anymore. Basically threw me away with… a box of suboxone. After 10-15 years of being a very compliant patient, never asking for anything more, and am LEGALLY prescribed anxiety medication that he has never seen in any of my urine tests because I don't like taking them. I was in the worst pain I've ever been in in my entire life and he stopped everything all at once. I was scared, in horrible pain, and crying and beg him not to do this to me. The next day I called the place that did the epidural and asked them what was used to sedate me and they confirmed my suspicion that they did indeed use benzo. They even gave me the name and I researched it, printed it out then got the report from them. Nothing mattered to Dr. Chemaly. and because I filled that prescription for Suboxone I now have been labeled as having an addiction. Several trips to the ER this year and finally 8 months later had an emergency surgery that failed! Probably because I couldn't find anyone to help me after being treated like a drug addict because the pharmacology report shows i had an Rx for Suboxone so then the doctors didn't want to treat me. So now I can barely walk, can never get any pain relief, and cry daily because of the chronic pain. I have other issues that he KNOWS about and I hope he can sleep at night knowing what he did to someone that always trusted him. I dropped 50lbs in the year since I was thrown away like a piece of trash from him and now I'm skin and bones. I live my life in a recliner, in too much pain and too weak to do anything. Up until he treated a very long time, compliant patient like I was nothing, I would have given him 5 stars. There is so much more to it but I'm tired of typing. Thanks, doc!!! *******

I have been a patient of his for close to 10 years. From the beginning he not only discussed my health problems but what else was going on in my life.He has always been an easy person to talk to. I've been a paraplegic for 30 years and have known many,many doctors and he is by far the best doctor I have ever known.

Dr. Chemaly is not just a Dr. he takes his time he really listen to what you have to say and what problems you have I have been with him for 15 years and not once did he never listen to what I was telling him the pain I was having. Not only is he a great Dr. but his staff Sage is such a big help in that office if there is something that I’m not communicating the right way to The Dr. she can put it into words that he can understand she is such a good person and really cares about all his patients. I have not met another Dr. that really listen he has made my life so much better in so many ways I have a 15 year old daughter that Dr. chemaly has made it possible for me to be able to be a mother to her that I can do things with her because I’m not balled up on my bed in pain I can sit and watch her cheerleading I can take our dog for walks together with her and talk about her day instead of being miserable because I’m in so much pain that I can’t hear her because the pain is so much louder.… I can not put it into words the quality of life that he has given back to me and my children because now I’m a grandmother from my older daughter but, she lives in NC and if is was not for him I would never be able to travel to see me 1st born grand daughter Thank you Dr. chemaly you have change my life in so many ways you have no idea what you have done for my family and myself God bless you and your hard working staff

The only pain management specialist who truly cares about his patients and goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you receive the proper care and treatment and make sure your pain is adequately manage. He does not make chronic pain patients endure any necessary suffering because he's a truly compassionate man who understands some conditions can never be cured and just try to make us as functional as possible. He also coordinates with other doctors even if you're experiencing difficulties in other areas of your body because he is the most knowledgeable doctor I know who knows about every system in the body and does the proper treatment and refers you to the best doctors he knows to to ensure you get the proper treatment with every aspect of your health that you're having difficulty with. His office staff especially Tammy and Sage are the best medical office professionals I know. This is the only doctors office I walk into where they always have a smile on your face and they… return calls promptly and communicate with the doctor to quickly resolve any emergencies as they arise. It is so refreshing to walk into a doctors office and have two women with huge smiles on their faces who get to know you on a personal level and truly care about you as much as the doctor does. I wish there was an award to give to office personnel and not just doctors because these two women deserve as much accolades as the doctor. When I have been at my sickest just their compassionate voices have helped me get through rough times. Most medical office assistant's are miserable and hate their job and treat you like just another number and not a human being. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with Dr. Chemaly's care and the way his office is run.

I have had chronic pain for 17 years now. Unfortunately, I did not start out seeing Dr. Chemaly. Now that I am, I would not change Drs for the world. He is very caring and compassionate, on top of being a very knowledgeable doctor. He knows about the latest research, and actually cares how you feel. Very often Dr's offices feel like a deli counter to me; you take a number, there is a brief conversation, and then you leave with something in your hand (only instead of a half pound of turkey, you have a prescription). This office is not like that. I never have to sign in because the office staff knows the patients, and they greet you when you walk in the door. Dr. Chemaly himself, spends time with you and listens, and helps. I know I wrote this earlier but I think it bears repeating, Dr. Chemaly cares, and that makes all the difference.

Dr.C is one In a million. He is the most compassionate doctor, truly understands his patients & goes above and beyond to understand your specific concern. His knowledge of pain management sets him apart from all the others. Truly a wonderful doctor. His staff is the icing on the cake. Just the very best.

Great doctor, listens, cares and talks to you like a human being

The thing I liked the most about the dr. Is how he looks into all the things you are saying bother you and how pricise he is and he doesn't try to change to much maybe tweeks things for your best like your meds that you have been takeing but he makes sure you have a reason to take them which shows he cares about you he is just a great dr. And also just a great person and. Very smart and down to earth.I like and respect him alot

Don't be fooled by big city hospitals and their designer doctor claims. After almost a year of seeing them, with no diagnosis for my husband... Dr. Chemaly figured out what was wrong with him by simply observing the way he was walking. He ordered an MRI to confirm his suspicions and BINGO..... he was 100% accurate... the MRI confirmed his suspected diagnosis. My husband is elated and cried knowing that there was indeed something confirmed and hope for him. Thanks to Dr. Chemaly and his brilliant mind and accurate diagnosis, we are heading to quality of life saving surgery.His attention to detail and concern about finding an accurate diagnosis is beyond comprehension !!!!! as I said above he is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
