Dr. Phillip Michael Shuffer, MD

Terrible Experience never again He has a horrible bedside manner. He is arrogant, rude, condescending, and he tries to mask it by bizarre and inappropriate jokes. It is disheartening to have doctors being allowed to treat patients like this. It was so bad that I want to make an official complaint. But I have a feeling that it wouldn't go anywhere.

I had an extremely disturbing experience with this doctor. I would not recommend him under any circumstances whatsoever. If you are a pregnant woman, or a woman seeking to become pregnant, stay far, far away from him. Do not let him perform any type of procedure on you. He is a failure as a doctor on every level, and his negligence has GREATLY affected my life.

I was referred to Dr. Shuffer for a laparoscopic hysterectomy due to large fibroids and heavy bleeding. My current doctor wanted to do a total abdominal hysterectomy and I just didn't want that. Dr. Shuffer was delayed with anger patient, but popped his head into the examining room to apologize and let me know he'd be right in. He came in shortly thereafter and was a delight to talk to! His sense of humor is SO refreshing! I smiled through most of the appointment! He took the time to answer every single question we had (my husband was with me) and explained all of my options in detail. He requested I allow him to do an endometrial biopsy to confirm no cancer was present. I trusted him completely in that short time and agreed. When he explained what he would be doing, I was quite apprehensive to say the least, but he used several distraction techniques that worked beautifully, and what I later heard is a painful procedure I breezed through with his gentle ways and distractions. Dr.… Shuffer ended up doing a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy a month later. Not only did he visit me in the preop area to reassure me, he spoke to my family and put all of them at ease. They all loved him! When I was wheeled Into the OR, he came over and held my hand and talked with me until they put me under. I was so impressed! I'll never forget him telling me I was in Hawaii right before they put me under! The surgery went very well and he handled the one complication (lots of adhesions from previous surgeries) with great care and skill. He called me twice while in the hospital to check up on me and encourage me when I couldn't make my bladder work! I was able to go home the next day with four small incisions. Dr. Shuffer called me again a week later to check up on me. I also need to add that I emailed him many times with concerns both before and after the surgery and he patiently answered each one! I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Shuffer to anyone looking for an outstanding OB/Gyn!

He has the best bed-side manners, is very thorough, and his diagnoses and treatments are always accurate. He answers all your questions and makes sure you have no doubts. He is the best. He is always busy, but you DO NOT have to wait a month to get an appointment.
