I found him to be not as informed as other doctors about what medications are appropriate for younger as opposed to elderly patients with different conditions. I did not trust his after visit notes as he did not read my conditions (or did not understand them.) A doctor he recommended (at my urging) whom I contacted did not even treat the conditions I was concerned about which confirms my opinion. I would not recommend him to anyone who had complex problems.

The doctor canceled on me a day ahead of time due to a “family emergency” then once I finally did see him a month later he dismissed all of my medical pathologies and my numerous symptoms..he seemed like he was more than ready to retire. A dangerous combination for an ID doc- lacks curiosity and no bedside manner. Do yourself a favor and pass on this guy. Notice that he has five star ratings on Cedars website, hmm, wonder how that happened?

Dr. Zakowski is a great doctor. He understands his specialty. He has saved my husband twice from infection.He knows exactly how to treat and what medications will work best. He has a great personality and makes you feel at ease. My husband went through a lot at a different hospital and wasn't getting the appropriate help he needed until we were referred to Dr. Z. His caring and personality makes up for the staff
